The Resurrection Project's breast cancer program, Ellas, celebrated its 12th anniversary at the National Museum of Mexican Art. Before the mariachi party started, a group of cancer survivors were recognized for their fight and advocacy for other community members. Congratulations to Araceli Lucio, the leader of Ellas, and thank you for the shout out to Sinai Chicago as one of the healthcare systems serving these patients.

If someone had asked me to become a champion for lymphedema awareness, education, and prevention, I would have declined. But when this disease took hold of my right arm, hand, and fingers after my battle with breast cancer, leaving me unable to continue my clinical practice as a medical doctor, I realized the dire need to help others suffering from cancer-related lymphedema. There was a purpose for my pain, and it called me to action. Absolutely! Here are some hashtags that should help increase SEO and impressions for your LinkedIn repost: #LymphedemaAwareness #CancerSurvivor #BreastCancerAwareness #PatientAdvocate #HealthEducation #ChronicIllness #MedicalCommunity #HealthcareAdvocate #PatientSupport #CancerCare #LymphedemaPrevention #MedicalJourney #HealthAdvocacy #CancerFighter #Inspiration #OvercomingAdversity #PurposeInPain

Talking with Grant McArthur AO about the significant budget cuts to the VCCC Alliance on ABC Program: The Conversation Hour, this week in Melbourne . The impact suggests a backwards step in funding that supports leadership , education and values based cancer research led by the alliance . We discussed the ongoing concerns in areas where we see poorer outcomes, particularly in regional Victoria where the Alliance plays a pivotal role. Cancer research, like studies into early detection , risk stratification , AI , new & emerging treatments and tests are evolving so fast, that we can’t afford to fall behind when we see cancer incidence continue to be one of the highest burden of disease. Breast Cancer Network Australia
BCNA’s Director of Policy, Advocacy and Support Services Vicki Durston joined VCCC Alliance CEO Grant McArthur AO on ABC Melbourne The Conversation Hour yesterday to talk about the reduction in funding to cancer research in Victoria announced in the Victorian State Budget a week ago. Sharing an example of some of the vital cancer research underway in Victoria, Vicki said: “In breast cancer we are seeing AI being used in clinical trials on mammography looking at patterns that can’t be picked up through the naked eye” “We can’t afford to see this sort of game changing research cut.” Listen here: https://ow.ly/z1ZY50RHRI7

To make a difference for those impacted by mCRC, we've teamed up with the advocacy experts: BLKHLTH, Colorectal Cancer Alliance, COLONTOWN and Family Reach to better understand the most pressing needs and learn how to provide the best support for this community.
