I attended the largest Salesforce event of the year, Dreamforce 2023, and here are the 5 lessons I learned: 1. AI is growing. AI is everywhere for a reason. There are many models that are projected to skyrocket in the next couple of years. Especially in the law and accounting space, where a lot of regulations and changes take place. AI is not going to eliminate lawyers or accountants. These professions will be needed. But they will just get faster and more efficient with AI co-pilots. 2. Be more curious and build new skills. There are new positions, like prompt engineers, becoming popular, and the special field knowledge will be a crucial aspect in getting the right result. So, we can see accountants playing with AI more in the next 5–6 years. The other thing is AI co-pilots in various fields. 3. Businesses are getting better. Businesses are doing pretty well. The demand for accountants is growing. There are also many new ways to pay and follow rules that businesses need to know about. Good days are ahead. 4. New technology can be a curse or a blessing (it’s up to us). Interstellar actor Matthew McConaughey said on the stage: The new technology, like AI, can be good or evil. It's up to us to decide. We should be open to the new things we are faced with, as these things are shaping the future we are going to leave to our offspring. Not every single thing will work out well, but nothing good is easy to achieve and works well from scratch. We must clearly move forward with great curiosity. 5. Planning matters. Dreamforce was the biggest conference I ever attended. Everything went smoothly because they planned everything out. From the big things to the tiny details, there were tons of good solutions, and the quality of the sessions was amazing. You listen and learn constantly. This is one of those rare conferences that are held in San Francisco, and that was definitely a celebration for the whole city, and Salesforce did great work to prepare it. Wow. Merivis #AD36 reviewed #Flows with Greg Jankowski this afternoon, and I think the group’s minds were collectively blown. It was really fun to see the value a Salesforce professional brings to the table with a strong handle on how flows work. Following up on this week’s coaching call with Jonathan Fox, today’s #DemoDay further inspired me to explore automation and dive deep into flow building. In his book “Man Up,” Bedros Keuilian preaches the merit of identifying and learning a high value skill in order to take ownership of your life, career, and finances. With this in mind, I plan to develop a strong proficiency in flows as I break into the Salesforce ecosystem. Here’s why. …The more I learn, the more I’m starting to realize how difficult it will be to effectively operate as a strong generalist. I initially thought that’s what it took to be an #AwesomeAdmin, but the ecosystem’s grown so much and the skills are so broad in Salesforce, I would argue it’s virtually impossible to make much of an impression attempting to be a Jack of all Trades (and master of none) anymore. But niching down toward a particularly valuable skill that produces highly tangible, measurable benefits feels like a really smart move— especially for a newcomer in the space who would likely benefit from expanding their skillset over time. With that, I’ll be spending some extra time on the trails this week getting familiar with building low code/no code automations. Feel free to join me! Hey People! Here's a snippet from my incredible journey – from a guest at Salesforce to now proudly being a member. It all kicked off at the "Trailblazing Women Summit." Picture this: a room filled with inspiration, knowledge, and a vibe that screamed 'Awesome' and 'Flexible' work culture. Every conversation fuelled my curiosity about Salesforce. Even before joining Salesforce, I was part of TMSfirst, a fantastic company where we harnessed the power of Salesforce to build projects. Working at TMSfirst wasn't just about a job; it was about embracing a culture that valued results over the mode of work. I owe a huge part of my journey to my incredible chief Kalyan Vasanth PMP ITIL at TMSfirst. Your unwavering support and focus on the work, rather than my location, made every day a joy. I can't express enough gratitude for the opportunities and lessons provided. One thing I've noticed is that people often harbor resentment for their past companies. Interestingly, it's the opposite for me. I've genuinely loved every place I've worked. Whether as a Program Manager at The Hacking School - Coding Bootcamp or a Salesforce Developer at TMSfirst, the learnings from each experience are etched in my heart. :) It's been already 4 months at Salesforce. What if Nothing Comes of it? I think we all grapple with this nagging question when we begin our Salesforce journey. What if I spend months going down this rabbit hole with nothing to show for it?! I had to make peace with this possibility. When I asked myself this question, I came up with reasons that no matter what happens, I will benefit from this pursuit. Here they are… 1.)   It’s good for my brain! Just like learning a musical instrument, or a new language, learning Salesforce will keep my cognitive wheels turning. It’s so different from the challenges I encounter in current career. It must be opening up new neural pathways that will help me be more logical and creative in other parts of my life!  2.)   Concepts learned on the Salesforce platform will likely apply elsewhere. Tech and big data aren’t going anywhere. Some ideas from SF will be generalizable to other platforms that I may encounter later. 3.)   I know how to use Salesforce for my own personal projects. I can always whip up a dev org and to manage my annual Halloween potluck!  Once you get past some of the tedious concepts, it is a genuinely fun to use and allows me to flex my creative muscle. 4.)   It keeps me focused on *something.* Sometimes it doesn’t matter what it is. I don’t know about you, but it can be dangerous for me to be alone with my own thoughts! I can always turn to ideas for Salesforce to prevent me from needlessly ruminating about life’s inevitable dramas! It’s so much better to turn my attention to solving a puzzle in flow. 5.)   I get to meet other Trailblazers and expand both my friend and professional network! You just never know where that could lead. You could end up with an opportunity that doesn’t involve Salesforce.  An expanded network is probably the biggest benefit of all. And, hey, you never know. It just may work! There are no guarantees in life, but learning is always valuable. Can anyone add to this list?  #salesforceadmin #salesforcecertified #uncertainty
