Sony quietly removed the misleading "8K" emblem from the #PlayStation5 packaging, which many criticized as deceptive.
When the #PS5 launched in 2020, the box prominently displayed the "8K" logo, falsely suggesting that the console could deliver 8K visuals. Despite the logo remaining on all PS5 versions sold since then, Sony recently eliminated it without explanation. This change, which was first noticed on Reddit, is unsurprising to those who viewed the original claim as an overreach, given the current limitations of video and gaming technology. Some #PlayStation users think Sony's removing the 8K logo is a ploy to reintroduce it on the rumored PlayStation 5 Pro packaging.
Although #Sony hasn't confirmed the #PS5Pro, reports hint at a 2024 release. If true, the reappearance of the 8K insignia would serve as a marketing tactic to differentiate the Pro model from the base PS5. However, with 8K gaming still far from reality, Sony's deceptive branding strategy is likely to continue disappointing consumers.

Congrats Simon, Emilio, Sherina and TMS ( Ed Lancaster, Hannah McClelland, Katie Samuels, Rebecca Griffin Fugger, Michael Daugherty) for engineering a great partnership.
