As we move through June, Halstead Incubation Partners has hit its first anniversary and I’ve just finished through submitting my first accounts.  It feels like a natural point for reflection.  So what does my year 1  report card look like: Revenue:  B+ Beat expected revenue by 30%.  Still not enough to thrive on, but getting to a run rate of survival and beyond… Clients: A- Not a bad client experience yet.  I’ve worked across 10+ clients in the year, and maintained a strong number into the next.  Some were purely project based, some continue on retainer, some are new and early stages  - and some are in the pipeline! Partners: A+  Lucky to have received lots of support form across the industry, and a special shout out to Greg MacDonald of Chelsea Strategies, and Stephen Adshead from Spark Ninety - who’s Advisory Board I’m proud to be part of and have without doubt helped me refine my approaches, and help me get up and running. Similar shout outs to Dennis Buchheim and James Rothwell at Think Medium, and Marco Bertozzi and Rachel Forde at TheZoo.London : The Consultant Collective. Overall: B.  I’m significantly better as a consultant, and continue to learn and improve.  Inquisitiveness, and openness are the 2 areas that continue to speed HIP’s  development.  The best lesson so far are knowing when to say no - passing on a project to those better suited where you can - and always be continuously business developing ! So what does the next year hold? Revenue:  3 targets set, Survival, Stay on Target, and smashed out the park.  I’ll let you know in a year how we have done! Clients:  Developing deeper relationships with a couple, and continuing to work on innovative and interesting projects is the goal.  Hit me up if you need strategic support!
