This week, the retail industry has seen a tale of two retailers, B&M and ASOS. While B&M reported a revenue of £5.5bn, up over 10% on last year, and plans to open more stores, ASOS group sales are -18% on last year over the half year. They are struggling to change their operating model to be more agile and rediscover their identity against a backdrop of changes in customer behaviour.
