May I ask.....will you be balancing out your marketing strategy by including some feedback from Opal Healthcare's employees ? If you do, I would suggest you look up 'glassdoor', or 'seek', or 'indeed'. There are a substantial number of reviews relating to 'toxic' workplaces, 'bullying', and unaccountability by management. I personally think it is imperative that any prospective client of Opal Healthcare is fully informed on how some of Opal Healthcare's employees have been, and are still being treated. It is only fair. I know personally, that I would never ever give my business to a company who mistreats their employees. Prospective clients should be given the same choice. Be transparent with your marketing Awaken. Opal Healthcare promotes its values as 'compassion', 'accountability', 'respect', and 'excellence'. That is to the uninitiated. https://lnkd.in/e9K23_Hw The below reflects personal views. This is good news especially since I always seem to be having this internal dialogue with myself that 'why am I doing this?' Let's take an example of my job being 9-6 with 20 min break (another sore topic of mine but thats not for now).. within this day i will literally spend an hour doing ad hoc consultations with people who 'want to speak to the pharmacist'. Why not right? You can talk to a healthcare professional without an appointment. That is one massive USP of community pharmacy. However in recent months my tone has changed. I have become a firm believer of the idea that if we do something, then there should be some remuneration for that task. An example being a pharmacy first or over the counter interaction that requires a referral but it is a pharmacy first category. I will register the patient, speak to them in the consultation room and then explain to them why we have to refer them to their GP for that particular ailment. This information will be logged on pharmoutcomes so GPs can access the rationale for the decision, but also so the pharmacy will recieve the payment for the consultation. Which has triggered the above audit, with a lot of pharmacy first referrals being rejected on the basis of ineligibility of patient or condition. We also had a discussion as a team on Friday to think that why can't Pharmacy First be expanded to include things like oral thrush? Again another topic beyond. I am glad that CPE is doing this audit because there is a lot of unpaid activity community pharmacies do for their clientele. I do still believe that the wider public, some GP practice personnel and even some of our own colleagues working within the community element require some respectful educating as to what goes on in a community dispensary. Everything is walk in. literally. 60% of interactions are unplanned and require on the spot critical thinking. Time management is tough, but it can be doable. The days of dispensing and 'a chat with x customer because of a x situation' over a brew have disappeared to an extent. And now exists an underfunded complicated environment that with the right resource could literally change the face of the NHS. And the answer lies in a better core contract. It always boils down to funding. Especially in the era of right wing Tory government in the UK.

Will be great if there is a new GP electronic medical record coming soon. Will it make primary care more efficient? I want to know where the improvements are compared with the encumbents.
