We recently held a Design AI training to our design staff, consisting of two half-day workshops with hands-on exercises, followed by reflection sessions. The training covered leveraging Generative AI (GenAI) in design, focusing on how AI can augment designer skills, the current and potential uses of AI across design workflow, and considerations for ethical and effective use of AI in digital services, products, and business.  Here's a list of 10 takeaways from our training sessions: 1. GenAI augments our design skills rather than replaces them.  2. At the moment, GenAI is good for research, learning, ideation, and copywriting first drafts. It's not yet useful for perfect final results, polished UI, big-picture thinking, or human interaction.  3. Prompting skills make a difference. For better results, assign a profile, personality, and context for GenAI when prompting.Use ChatGPT to get feedback on your designs and sketches.  4. Custom GPTs are good ways to build personal assistants for specific needs.  5. UI tools will probably take a major leap in a few years. Keep watching.  6. We must consider biases, ethics, and shadow patterns, and try to mitigate them. The good news? The same risks and biases are present in human-made designs.  7. We need to observe the EU-proposed principles for designing AI-enabled services.  8. Three characteristics of GenAI-powered products and services are: 1) Conversational, 2) Personalized, 3) Agentive.  9. When thinking of new products and services for customers, figure out what unfair data advantage they could have that would make their service unique.  10. Agentive AIs will challenge us to adopt a new perspective on both CX and product design, moving beyond UIs and classical user journeys towards multimodality and networks of agents. What's next? Later in the fall, we will create the Siili Design GenAI Playbook compiling insights and best practices from the training to guide our future AI-driven design projects. Stay tuned! Huge thanks to our trainer Matias Vaara for an insightful training.  #MakeItReal | #AIpowered | #Design | #AI
