Coupling with rFpro, real-time Driver-in-the-Loop simulations can be done with vehicle models from the Vehicle Dynamics Library. Users can access a template to export vehicle models as Functional Mockup Units (FMUs) and the Physics Plugin inside rFpro to import the model as an FMU. This is just one of the updates available in the latest Modelon library content. This progress has enabled the development of increasingly safe and efficient vehicles. Note: These simulations were carried out with software that is a dynamic soft-body physics vehicle simulator. When we share Siemens’ Digitalization Strategy with our Customers, we often talk about Closed Loop Optimisation being the highest level of the Digitalization journey. What this means is simulation models are not only connected (to upfront system requirements and mechanical / electrical / software development models) and calibrated (with actual physical performance), companies can begin to “shift left” on the V-development cycle towards reliant upon simulation models to understand system behaviour much earlier than wait until physical testing.
