🎬 Lights, camera, confusion! 🍿 Imagine this: Recently I decided to watch #Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life), a Malayalam flick(I dont know the M of Malyali) So there I am, all set to enjoy the movie with English subtitles guiding me through. But guess what? No subtitles in sight! I'm frantically looking around, thinking, "Did I miss something here?" It felt like a plot twist in itself! But then I thought does someone offer subtitle glasses? You know, like those 3D ones, but instead of making things jump out, they'd bring the dialogue to life in any language you want! I mean, if we can order food with a tap on our phones, surely we can crack the code on cinema subtitles, right? Luckily found something https://lnkd.in/gdK3Pwhc, but not sure why this is not on scale. Some pretty cool stuff they are doing, lip-sync, voice cloning etc. #newProduct #subtitleglasses #PVR #virgin

Sound Design from #Trepang2! Beware of jump scares! I've heard there might be some. Sound design for this scene was created during the very final stages of development. It was a lot of fun to make, thanks to the tight deadline. I noticed that such challenges usually lead to creative and highly effective choices. You have to think quickly, much like when driving a sports car. https://lnkd.in/dy_PqXyH #trepang2 #sounddesign #gameaudio #gamedev #indiegamedev #indiegame

The Indie Advantage: Why Malayalam Producers Should Embrace Low-Budget Innovation Malayalam cinema is famous for pushing boundaries, but big budgets aren't the only route to success. Here's why producers should look to the vibrant indie filmmaking scene for fresh ideas and profitable models: 1. Storytelling Freedom Less Commercial Pressure: Indie filmmakers aren't bound by formulas, allowing for unique narratives and niche explorations. Authentic Voices: Smaller budgets encourage stories rooted in personal experiences and underrepresented perspectives. Emerging Talent: Tap into the energy and vision of new directors and screenwriters eager to make their mark. 2. Creative Problem-Solving Resourcefulness is Key: Indie filmmakers become masters of maximizing limited resources, fostering creative solutions. Embracing Technology: Low-cost filmmaking tools (DSLR cameras, editing software) level the playing field. Focus on Story: When spectacle is out of reach, the emphasis shifts to potent characters, compelling dialogue, and emotional core. 3. Audience Engagement and Niche Appeal Targeted Distribution: Festivals and niche streaming platforms provide direct access to passionate audiences. Grassroots Marketing: Social media and film communities are perfect for generating buzz around indie projects. Global Reach: Unique stories resonate universally – subtitles and OTT platforms open the world to Malayalam indie films. Producers, don't overlook the potential hidden in low-budget gems: Seek Out Indie Pitches: Actively listen to fresh talent and consider smaller, but artistically ambitious projects. Partner with Emerging Filmmakers: Offer your experience to mentor up-and-coming directors Champion Experimentation: Even a modest investment in a daring indie film can lead to unexpected rewards. It's about time Singapore aim to create the greatest television series of all time. Attending the WISE GUY David Chase & The Sopranos event at the Tribeca Film Festival got me thinking - do we have the resources, talent, and faith to achieve this? Listening to David Chase and the cast members talk about their experiences working on The Sopranos, the crowd's reactions, and the mix of envy and motivation I felt, sparked a fire within me. While KIN & TANGLIN were suitable for their intended audiences, we haven't yet produced a national success that all Singaporeans can truly be proud of. Why haven't we created our own version of groundbreaking series like The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, or The Bear, with great actors and exceptional writing?I believe we have the talent and resources needed. What's crucial is assembling a dedicated team of diverse Singaporean writers to brainstorm innovative ideas for a globally successful TV series that addresses real issues faced by Singaporeans. We must ensure inclusivity in age, race, and experience within this team. Securing the necessary resources is essential, and we must uphold the highest standards in every aspect of scriptwriting. Casting decisions should be based on actors' suitability and believability for the roles, rather than their fame or following. As we are in 2024, it's time to focus on creating not just safe, but outstanding work for local TV that can resonate with a global audience. Let's strive for greatness in our storytelling and aim to make a significant impact in the television industry. #TheSopranos #GreatTV #GreatWriting #GreatActing #TribecaFilmFestival

Japanese anime has gained a global following due to its unique storytelling, diverse characters, intricate artwork, and captivating themes. It has become a significant cultural export, influencing art, entertainment, and pop culture worldwide. Regarding hiring Japanese graphic designers and animation creators for company PR efforts, it could be a strategic move, especially considering the high level of skill and creativity often associated with Japanese talent in these fields. Leveraging Japanese talent could bring a fresh perspective to PR campaigns, potentially appealing to audiences who appreciate anime and Japanese culture. PSPINC's initiative to facilitate hiring Japanese talents on a contract basis could be advantageous for US companies looking to tap into this talent pool. The favorable exchange rate between the Japanese yen and the US dollar makes it more cost-effective to hire Japanese talent, allowing companies to access high-quality work at potentially lower costs. Overall, hiring Japanese designers and animators for company PR efforts could be a smart investment, potentially leading to innovative and visually appealing campaigns that resonate with audiences both domestically and internationally.

Almost 10 years I’ve been sailing in this media indistry specially in moving and still image. I found out that there is a trend which is really popular growing so fast in Thai companies, hiring multiple skills people to do various jobs. The problem is the budget in return for them is not going along with what companies requested them to work on. I’m one of the lucky duck that found good and nice companies along the journey that gave me great opportunities and reasonable return goods. I heard and saw a lot of potential talents gave up on this path because companies required them to be able to filming, editing, sound designing, sometimes even Motion graphic or 3D composited. All of these are come in with minimum wage for 1 job. This is not a complain session. It’s just a random thought in my mind for awhile. If we want to go this trend, at least we have to make it right. Times people spent to craft their skills, experiences which allow us to work on any tasks were assigned to. It is never too late to build a good environment and culture for working people. Believe in art, JS #thailand #mediaproduction #filming #industry #crew

It's time to kill Aling Tasing. 🔪 You know her. She's the go-to persona of Philippine TV and advertising. Picture a middle-aged mom flipping between soap operas and meal prepping. She's your classic Filipino everywoman, stretched across various industries as a catch-all target market. But guess what? Aling Tasing hasn't changed since the early 90s (maybe even the 80s). The truth is, she's binging Game of Thrones and Succession. She's a subtitle-reading maestro, tuning into Korean dramas. TikTok? She's on it. High fashion? She knows it, even if she can't afford it (yet). And yeah, she's swiping on Bumble and schooling her kids on TikTok dance trends. But our media messaging is stuck in a time warp, still catering to this 80's relic. And that's a surefire way to create stagnant content. The truth is, Aling Tasing is as dynamic and worldly as anyone else. So stop speaking to an outdated stereotype and start talking to the nuanced, complex audiences of today. Get creative, take risks, and go niche. The Aling Tasing that we know? She never really existed. She's as empty as this faceless stock image of an Asian lady watching TV. So let's kill the idea of her, and develop content that really resonates with today's audiences. #Creativity #Targetaudience #Writing #Media

Here are some tips to enhance your language journey: Start with Familiar Genres: Begin with genres you're already passionate about. Whether it's drama, comedy, or action, familiarity will make it easier to follow the storyline. Choose Slow-Paced Films: Opt for movies with a slower pace, allowing you to absorb dialogue more effectively. This is especially helpful when trying to grasp the nuances of a new language. Utilize Context clues: Pay attention to the characters' expressions, body language, and the overall context of the scene. This can provide valuable hints to help you understand conversations. Repeat, Reflect, Rewind: Don't hesitate to rewind scenes and repeat them. It's okay to take your time. Reflect on the dialogue and try to understand the meaning before moving forward.
