RBK-500 with a Glide Kit   This is a Russian RBK-500 cluster bomb fitted with the UMPK glide kit. The UMPK, which could be referred to as a poor man’s JDAM is usually seen fitted to Russia’s FAB series (blast and fragmentation) general purpose bombs.   This is the first time I have seen it fitted to a cluster bomb unit but I did some research and it has been reported before. Every day is a school day.   The RBK-500 is typically fitted with ATK or ATM series fuzes but, bearing in mind the much longer time required between launch and reaching the required height above the target with the UMPK fitted, it is not clear if a different fuze would be required.   Cluster bomb units have to release their submunitions above the target area, so that the submunitions can spread across the area, therefore their fuzes are not set to function on impact.   https://t.me/TyskNIP/9064   #EOD #ukrainewar
