Operator first, Investor second

This is a video interview of my father at a local Kansas news station. He always says "I've done alright for a little, old doctor from Topeka, Kansas...right?" But in my opinion, he has killed it. If he had been in the Bay Area hustle he probably would've built a multi-billion-dollar digital health empire. That's why I don't take any opportunity for granted. Some highlights (I know no one will actually watch this!): 1. Get really good at something. He prioritized being a great doctor, before creating companies. He then launched businesses in verticals he knew a lot about. 2. Always care about building a great product. Whether it is his probiotic supplement business or making sure his providers are the best in class at patient care he prioritized customer happiness. 3. The status quo is the kiss of death. Always push yourself to strive for better as a business and a person. Even small improvement can compound. 4. Numbers never lie. You can always tell the story by looking at metrics and financials. My father is a Doogie Howser of data. Pushed me to be rigorous. 5. Dream big. Important to be an optimist. Otherwise you won't try anything. 6. Pay it forward. He owes Topeka for much of his success, so spends all of his time trying to make the town better. P.S. Also...isn't he the cutest person ever :) Dr. Shekhar Challa
