Chapter 1: The Unyielding Defense of Guns at the Expense of Children Last night, #America added yet another dark chapter to its grim narrative of gun violence. In Lewiston, #Maine, Robert Card, a military-trained firearms instructor, unleashed a hail of bullets on a crowd, leaving at least 18 dead (although previous accounts reported 22 dead) and dozens more injured; 10 of the victims requiring identification before they could be confirmed as victims.[123] Card had been committed to a mental health facility just months prior, where he reported hearing voices and even threatened to carry out a shooting at a military base.[123] Despite these glaring red flags, he was still allowed to own high-powered assault rifles with extended clips.[123] This is not an isolated incident; it’s a recurring #nightmare that we’ve become all too familiar with. According to Statista, the United States averages more than 40,000 deaths from firearms annually[4]. This staggering number is not just a statistic; it’s a reflection of our collective failure as a society. We have become a nation that values the right to bear arms over the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of #happiness for our children.[4]

2nd Amendment Brief: Global The United Nation's (UN) Open-Ended Working Group on Conventional Ammunition (OEWG) submitted proposals for a new global framework. The OEWG, which was formed in February 2023, proposed a set of recommendations that claim to be aimed at restricting the transporting of small arms into conflict zones, preventing negligent explosions at munition sites, and recognizing the role of women in ammunition management. Recommendations on restrictions on "stockpiles" of ammunition to citizens (including in the U.S.) have caused concerns among gun rights activists. Debrief: The OEWG's final report fails to clearly define terms such as "stockpile" and "end users." This appears to be a purposeful oversight that has, under the broad definition, the capability to consider a 25+-round box of ammo a "stockpile". It could also allow for the assig...(CLASSIFIED, see full brief and analysis by joining at www.graymanbriefing.com)

Executing on an IP strategy that aligns with business objectives is paramount. IP is not one size fits all. It's case-by-case. When IP is curated and used effectively, businesses have an advantage over other market competitors. CALDWELL
“What we found is that systems that are heavily reliant on contractor support, that have a minimum of government-owned intellectual property or access to the intellectual property, that the flexibility to make changes in accordance with a new national security environment is limited,” Assistant Secretary of Defense Christopher Lowman told Breaking Defense. http://ow.ly/5NbA1053OwC

And this lively and important debate continues. Personally, definitely like "protected" over "lower cost" any day. Key is finding that happy medium of "how many by type" to have in the total force, as the enemy and terrain always have a vote, is the right question to ponder further. When it comes to towed systems, definitely need a better prime mover, I most of us can all agree about that fact. "Both sides in the towed vs. self-propelled debate make strong arguments. Advocates of self-propelled howitzers point to their superior protection and their ability to rapidly displace after firing. Supporters of towed guns cite their lower cost, lighter weight, and improved setup times." https://lnkd.in/eMc72-_4
For 250 years, US troops could tow their cannons around the battlefield. The war in Ukraine shows they won't have that luxury in the future.
