With #spring officially underway, grab an indoor plant at your favorite local plant store to help brighten up your space. A pop of nature is perfect for any style, but also helps freshen the air in your home. Here are some easy to care for plants that we love: 🌿Any pothos (can be propagated easily in water) 🌿Snake plants (treat these like succulents and water when soil is completely dry) 🌿Monsteras (need higher humidity, but easy to care for) 🌿Hoyas (can withstand more than your typical plant with their waxy leaves) 🌿ZZ plants (have rhizomes to deliver water to the plant that look like potatoes) 🌿Philodendrons are beautiful (but grow quickly and need a lot of space, humidity, and bright, indirect light) Whatever you love, just don't over-water! Root rot isn't fun. If you're leaves turn yellow, you're over-watering. What plant are you hoping to score next? Have any winter holiday plants at home? Here are some pointers to take care of them this season: ⭐ Most plants enjoy a room temperature of 65 to 72°F. ⭐ Avoid a location close to a fireplace or wood burner. ⭐ Plants, like us, do not enjoy drafty areas. ⭐ Be sure the plant's container will not leak water onto your furniture, or add a saucer or bowl to prevent damage. ⭐ Remember to give them a drink so the soil does not completely dry out, but don't allow the pot to sit in water. ⭐ After the flowers fade, add the potting media and the plant to your compost pile.

Holy Week is the week preceding #Easter, running from #PalmSunday to Holy Saturday. This is usually a quieter week for us. The #cuttings intended for export will fly a little earlier, Friday is Good Friday and is a day off in many EU countries, so we have slightly fewer orders for our pot plants. And if the temperature is a bit pleasant and there is also a sun during Easter, many people will start working on their #gardens again and the demand for #beddingplants will increase and for green plants will decrease slightly. So we Dracaenakwekerij De Plaats B.V. | Dragontree have some time to replace a bed of #Dracaena Surprise #motherplants and plant them 'quickly'. Within 18 months, this bed will be in full cutting production again. We wish everyone a happy Easter. #timelaps #greenwalls #greenhouse #youngplants #plants #foliage #growers #tropical #tropicalfoliage #houseplants #airpurification #newplants #westland #interiorlandscape #plantwholesaler #plants #interiordesign #GreenDesign

Introducing 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸! Each week, we'll showcase some of the most common greenery we use in our landscapes 🌿🌸 If you've been around town, you may have noticed these little guys at the forefront of flower beds. Pansies are relatively cold-tolerant and can withstand light frosts and freezes. They are often planted in the fall and can survive mild winter conditions. Pansies offer a stunning palette of colors. Their charming "faces" come in captivating monochromatic, bicolor, and tricolor combinations, including some with striking striped veins resembling cat whiskers. They make a striking contrast in the foreground of beds. An interesting fact about pansies is that their flowers are edible. Caring for pansies is hassle-free. Maintain even soil moisture, especially in warmer temperatures, and provide occasional fertilizer for stunning blooms. To bolster their survival during chilly winters, a little extra care goes a long way. Applying mulch around the plants and covering them with frost cloth on exceptionally cold nights can help these resilient flowers continue to thrive in colder temperatures. #PlantOfTheWeek #LandscapingInspiration #TheShoals

Cold-season blooms are rate, but winter jasmine will start the gardener thinking spring is here, An interesting fact about winter jasmine is it does not have a scent like most jasmine. Each roughly being 1/2- 1 inch wide and scentless. Winter jasmine prefers well-drained soil in full sun. The great quality of soil is not required but the addition of some compost may be beneficial. It can be used as groundcover or grown over a trellis with training. They can grow to be 4ft-15ft in height and are easy to keep in desired height with trimming. Winter jasmine needs regular moisture, especially in summer. Placing mulch around the base will help retain moisture. Fresh flowers are a classic real estate industry trick for better home showings and open houses! Here are a few tips to keep cut flowers fresh longer: 🌼Start with a clean vase. Use diluted bleach and give your vase a good scrub to get rid of any bacteria before you add your arrangement. 🌸Add flower food. If you don’t have any on hand, you can provide nutrients by mixing 2 tbs lemon juice, 1 tbs sugar, and ½ tsp bleach into your vase water. 🌼Snip stems and remove leaves. Cut stems at a 45-degree angle and remove any leaves that will be submerged. This prevents bacterial growth and aids water and nutrient absorption. 🌸Replace water and recut stems. Trim stems every 3-5 days and add fresh water daily to keep the vase clean and flowers hydrated. 🌼Avoid heat and direct sunlight. Watch for overexposure, which can dry out flowers prematurely.
