Here's our Top 5 takeaways from the downfall of Foxtrot. 1. Even For Grocery, It's All About Ambiance: Foxtrot's upscale shopper base craves the same curated retail environment at a convenience store that they do at a Saks Fifth Avenue. 2. If You Launch Local, Stay Local: Early on, Foxtrot prided itself on serving coffee sourced from nearby roasters. As it scaled nationally, it started serving La Colombe out of Philadelphia to coffee drinkers in Chicago, D.C. and Texas. A small act that symbolized losing its soul. 3. Gamification of Snacking: Foxtrot's unrivalled assortment of "rare items" aka hard to find drinks, snacks, and candies created a deeply loyal fan base who adored the experimental merchandising. But the store's parallel emphasis on ready-to-eat foods like lasagna blurred its focus, leading to unnecessary "side quests." We're wondering, if Foxtrot been more relentless in its focus -- fresh items grocer, a legendary snacks cornerstore or a simple coffee shop -- could it have survived the vibecession? Either way, its downfall is a tragedy for snack lovers and a loss for the retailing community. #Foxtrot #FoxtrotClosing #FoxtrotChicago #FoxtrotDC #FoxtrotDallas #RetailNews #Top5 #Takeaways #Retailing #CPG #Innovation #Thoughtleadership

🙌 Blacksticks is Back 🙌 3 little words…joyous to say, easy to write ✍️ but not so simple to achieve just 3 months post fire. High performance is often talked about and everyone has their own definition, for me it’s performance that consistently exceeds an expected performance level. That is the performance level I’ve seen from our team these past few weeks, each week setting a new bar. The result is that I can have an interview with The Grocer to share that Blacksticks is Back. 💥 Not only is is back, it’s coming back with a bang, because we haven’t lifted our foot off the gas and the plans we have to deliver category growth remain and we are going to execute them. 💪 Sneak peek in the article below but I’ll be sharing much more about how we are going to deliver this and how you can be part of the movement in the coming weeks. 🤓 🙌 Blacksticks is Back 🙌 https://lnkd.in/eFrqkCYS #Blacksticks #CheeseSetFree #Butlerness #HighPerformingTeam

“Make your own real estate!” 🛒🔥 Retail shelf space is hyper competitive and expensive, but creativity is free. It costs nothing to pitch store-level decision makers on alternate displays for extra visibility. All it takes is one YES for a shot at an unforgettable brand block. We waited a while to invest in shippers thinking they were more of a beverage play, but now that we realize winning on shelf sometimes starts off-shelf, we’re leaning in with as many priceless ‘points of interruption’ as we can. These RIND Snacks week-ender displays are a great example 👇 Rolling out to Kroger divisions this week: King Soopers/City Market & Quality Food Center (QFC) 👀🍊💪 #retail #grocery #displays #eyecatching #shippers #shelfies #creativity #cpg #brands #groceryindustry #display #cpgindustry #brandbuilding
