💚Demystifying Mental Health, shattering barriers, igniting conversations. Empowering forward thinking organisations to understand & champion Mental Health Mental Health Trainer | Speaker | Cancer Awareness for managers

Guess what happened yesterday? 🥳 Ding a ling a ling! 🔔 After six long months of chemo, I finally rang the bell.🥳 Sure, I'm reached a big milestone in my treatment plan, but there's still a long road ahead: 8 more days of getting through side effects, then surgery, radiotherapy, and who knows what else. Next up is the essential but dreaded scan. Has losing my identity and dealing with all these side effects been worth it? I haven't conquered anything or been brave. I've simply survived, kept my mental health in check, and have been given some incredible work opportunities along the way. My mission is to make cancer awareness and support a regular part of workplace well-being. To dispel the myths, share the facts, and empower more of you to check your cherries regularly. Trust me, it saves lives. - - - - - - - ❌ 890,000 people of working age are living with cancer- this is set to rise to 1. 5 million by 2030 ❌ 700,000 people are juggling work and caring for someone with cancer. ❌ 71% of UK employees who have cancer fear telling their colleagues about their diagnosis. ❌ l in 5 people with cancer who returned to work after their diagnosis faced discrimination at work. ❌ less than a 3rd of organisations offer any kind of support to employees living with cancer. 🚀 → July sarcoma awareness month - join other organisations and learn how to talk about cancer in the workplace? 🔒 → Book a free call in July 📩 → DM me the word “WIG” or visit the link in the bio to find out more #WorkingWithCancer #CancerAwareness #MentalHealth #SuicidePrevention #Speaker

🙏 All the best wishes possible for the next steps and phases of your journey Sharron ... After a recurrence of my cancer I'm in palliative care as and it's inoperable and incurable, So, it's great to see awareness information posts such as yours on cancer and mental health from someone on "the journey" as it helps break taboo's, and show vulnerability and no-shame ... My thoughts are with all on the journey 🙏🙏🙏 #LivingWithCancer #WorkingWithCancer #CancerAwareness #MentalHealth

Well done on getting through this tough time! Wish you all the best. My partner Katherine Thompson is going through the same starting her second lot of chemo treatment next week after the first chemo not taking the effect it should 😢 and is very hard for everyone around. Well done for creating awareness, she is also promoting awareness to others over instagram. We have two young girls 2 & 5 and we can just hope day by day for better days ahead. Wish you all the best 😊

Yes Sharron Moffatt (MHFA®/ACSM)!!! I know that feeling very well 🥳🥳 Love the final few seconds of your video. I appreciate it’s far from the end of the journey but it’s another step closer… Love that we are both on the same path, raising awareness and bring attention to a subject that needs a light shining on it. You are amazing 🤩

Congratulations on ringing that bell! You've listed some frightening stats there and from experience I know that support from your employer is a key factor in recovery. Have open and honest conversations if you can, as having the confidence to say " I need to concentrate on myself " for a day or two is of massive benefit. Best wishes to you on this journey.
