Our mission is to improve the career progression of high-potential black, female or low-household-income professionals across their entire career lifecycle, from school leavers (Day One) to Board Level.
Corporates - you can do better. Last year 65 corporates told me that they wanted to appoint more black heritage or female professionals into leadership positions but they couldn't find the talent pipeline. 'It's a pipeline issue!' is what I heard from every HR Manager, everywhere. Instead of fixing the problem, I watched these corporates sponsor events that discussed the problem, but do nothing about it. If you look at the leadership teams of these companies, they're still overwhelmingly male with no black heritage representation. Lloyds Banking Group was the only company to sponsor 80 future black heritage or female tech professionals to apply for their most senior roles. Yes, you read that correctly. They agreed to invest in EIGHTY Future Leaders, through mentoring, networking and masterclasses to help them prepare for senior vacancies. Even I was surprised, so I asked my community to help me find them. And you all went crazy doing so! 💚 22 fellow inclusion and diversity organisations shared my post. 👩💼 257 female or black heritage professionals applied. 😍 83 were selected. All 83 have met the criteria to be considered for senior vacancies - the ones that corporates said were 'impossible to find.' To the corporates who talk a lot about this, but have yet to see change: 📢 sponsoring events during Black History Month or International Women's Day aren't cutting it anymore. We need you to sponsor PEOPLE to get into positions of leadership. 👩🏫 the pipelines do exist - Lloyds Banking Group and Journi have proven it. ❌ stop telling us how inclusive you are. Let it show in your leadership teams.
So great to be collaborating with you 🤩
