🚨 Help me support an important professional initiative 🧬 ✍🏻 With nearly 500 organizations supporting the Federal bill "Access to Genetic Counselor Services Act," now is the time to act. Currently, certified genetic counselors (CGCs) are not recognized as healthcare providers by Medicare. This means they can't be reimbursed for their services, making it harder for patients to access genetic counseling. Studies show that CGCs improve patient care and lower the costs of genetic services. Here's how you can help: 1. Advocate on the Hill: Share the benefits of this bill with your members of Congress. NSGC’s team can assist in meetings and provide supporting documents. 2. **Send Letters**: Use NSGC’s Federal Advocacy page to send letters to your Congressional delegation.
