Day 2 - of the -Bright Network Internship Experince UK started strong hearing from Laura Tye and how she became the legal director at Clyde & Co, my key takeaways are to never take anything forgranted and to always be curious to learn more and branch out to different sectors This was followed by sector specific discussions, each one held by a different one of Bright Networks partner brands and presented by Rachel Delaney, the head of B2C marketing at Bright Network 💡1. Victoria Stedman from British Airways shared a great look into British Airways and her role as a Colleaugue Engagement Manager, and how British Airways faces challenges whilst maintaining their core values 💡2. Daisy Thompson the sales and sustainability lead and Juetong Liang an engineering graduate from Nestlé spoke to us about the sustainability at Nestle and how both their roles feed into this- it was a great insight into how bigger brands tackle such an important issue 💡3. Marie Fukuura the sales director of AB InBev gave us some great information about the company and other brands they work with such as Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I and how the Beer and Beverage industry works 💡4. Aileen Nathan the senior commercial director at Mondelēz International came to share her amazing journey and the story of the egg, I found the whole presentation both inspiring and captivating 💡5. Charles Frost the Client development manager at AlphaSights spoke about the sales industry and how sales profiles effect sales, we also learnt how we can use the skills learnt in sales in the world to promote ourselves 💡6. Lydia Cronin the Demand Generation Manager at Bright Network and Rachel Delaney gave us a great look into the differences between B2B marketing and B2C marketing and the basics of demand generation- As someone looking to go into the marketing industry this was a great breakdown of the roles We were then given time to network with some of the Brands, this was a great opportunity to scope out potential placement and see what different companies had to offer 🏆One of my favourites was Nestlé where I got to ask questions about the programmes they offer, I have always had an interest in Nestle, one of my favourite moment in Sixthform pre covid was having the opportunity to visit the Nestlé Crawley offices, with our Business class and we got to take part in an interactive business session, which inspired my love for marketing so a massive Thankyou to Abbie Scargill Assoc CIPD, James Olley, Nadia H. , Heather Kennedy and Jack To end the day we were given our work brief by Junior Graham an emerging talent partner from British Airways, I can't wait to complete the work sample and showcase my ideas and initiative💡

Day 2 at Internship Experience UK 2024 Keeps Impressing!🎉✅ Today's second session was led by Marie Fukuura, Commercial Controller, Off-Trade, Premium Retail at Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I. Her talk was incredibly insightful. Marie presented a straightforward strategy: 1. Lead & Grow the Category 2. Digitize & Monetize the Ecosystem 3. Optimize the Business Despite challenges like lockdowns, shortages, instability, and inflation, beer remains a beloved and affordable product across all demographics, thanks to one of the world's largest B2B platforms. Budweiser's commitment spans safety, inclusivity, and sustainability. In-depth research shapes their portfolio priorities: expanding World Lager while rationalizing Standard Lager, highlighting the significance of a winning portfolio in the dynamic brewing industry. Aileen Nathan, Senior Sales Director at Mondelēz International, followed with a product masterclass on storytelling: Shell eggs make up 53% of total Easter sales—243 million RSV—purchased by half of UK households. Emphasizing sustainable ingredients, social impact, climate action, and eco-friendly packaging, consumer research, and collaboration led to innovative packaging: a chocolate shell egg for mini eggs, eliminating 28 million plastic pieces and 400 tonnes of cardboard. Improved palletization fit 40% more consumer units per pallet, cutting over 25,000 pallets processed. These innovations, returning to a proven format, resonated deeply with consumers who loved it! In addition to the informative sessions, we had valuable networking opportunities with professionals from PwC, AlphaSights, British Airways, Budweiser, ICAEW, and Nestlé. Engaging face-to-face allowed me to ask insightful questions, providing a deeper understanding of various industries and enhancing my experience. The conversations were incredibly helpful, offering practical advice and unique perspectives that will be invaluable as I move forward in my career. To cap off the day, we were introduced to a work sample exercise that provided a hands-on experience of the tasks and challenges faced in these industries. This practical component was enlightening, allowing us to apply the insights and strategies discussed throughout the sessions. This week I worked a total of 3 hours on Tuesday and Thursday. During my internship at Maverick Chocolate this week I learned more skills relating to my entrepreneurship course, as well as skills that I can use to help out at on-site. To start helping the business in more ways I learned how to de-mold the chocolate bars to prepare them for packaging. By doing this I was able to help get all of the prepared Ruya and Prohibition bars de-molded and ready for packaging. Relating to the current topics of the course I had the opportunity to discuss revenue models with Mr. Picton. I learned of the purpose of forecasting revenue/profits as well as how they effect the process of planning for the future of the business. What I can takeaway from this week is that by having the statistics necessary to forecast a revenue one can plan on how they will develop. I can apply this to my current and future endeavors by adapting my plans based on the data that I gain through my development. #TheBusinessLaunchExperience @TheLaunchBusinessExperience

During session one I was a member of the public affairs team, which primarily dedicated to promoting our website as well as the app. My projects mainly focus on drafting the posts both visual and text. My favorite part about being on the Biscuit Beacon Team is the incredible diversity among our team members, you would be able to learn more about your teammate's culture during the orientation and also get to know each other. 3. Great question. A good intern is looking for opportunities to learn new skills and contribute to the projects that they are involved with. We like to talk about engineering being self-directed continuous learning, and interns that exhibit curiosity, that are unafraid of asking questions, and are willing to dig into a little research are going to excel. A good intern mentor and supervisor is planning ahead to identify those opportunities and "clear the deck" for intern participation. This might mean that productivity occasionally temporarily takes a back seat to creating enriching experiences, but that is absolutely a great investment in the long term for the intern and the company.
