I've finished level 01 of my personal game project "Profesor Gluten" 🐸 🥖 Right now the level is functional, can be played with all its necessary features in place. Visuals are quite cute (that is, for free stock assets). This means that now the only thing left to do is: create a main title scene, a choose-level scene and add the ability to quit the game. After that, this MVP will be finished 😭 🎉 #unity2d #gamedev #csharp

Another Game Jam in the books! That marks 5 game jams or hackathons in the last 5 months! 🎮 Introducing “Unit 763”, my entry to the New Year New Skills Game Jam hosted by Bitter Sails Games. You play as a space commando tasked with liberating an outpost from man-eating plants! This game is my first side-scrolling shooter as well as my first game in the Godot Engine. Happy to talk about my experience with the engine in the comments if anyone is curious - it was a mostly positive one! Lots of lessons learned from this project, too! I’m always surprised by the number of reusable systems and ideas I take away from each of these jams. Climbable, sliceable vines and ropes will absolutely show up in my future projects, as I’m very happy with how they turned out here! Hi 🤓 I've implemented another very enjoyable project with React. If you like knowledge competitions, you might be interested in my Flashcard Quiz Project. You can select films, entertainment, or video games as the question category. Each question card flips over with an animation to reveal the answer when clicked. I found these endless questions using the Open Trivia Database API (opentdb.com) which is a very useful API that allows generating as many questions as desired. Wanna play escape game? Back in December, I made a major part of this game : from puzzles, to coding game mechanisms, to #sounddesign... It's a simple game, more knowledge in game design could have made this game better but talking about sound design only, it marks the beginning of my journey through sound design for games and make it my kind of first game 🎮 For the sound, I mainly used soundbanks.  I also used a lot of sound attenuation in Wwise to make the station sounds like it's real. I think this is especially hard, one little parameter can change all your attenuation. I finally managed to find some spare time and resume tinkering with Rust and BevyEngine. I expanded my initial concept from several months ago by implementing character and camera controls, animations, integrating a physics engine and a basic multiplayer mode. In the video you can see entity replication between 2 clients via fully authoritative game server. One of the things I might explore next is the idea of embedding the game server into a Unikernel. The idea behind Unikernels is to remove the overhead of a traditional OS by allowing you to execute a single process in a single address space system. The application and the OS become a single unit. This means less resources consumed, no user-kernel space context switches, improved security posture/attack surface, no additional OS/services to maintain/manage, etc. (the level used is from: https://lnkd.in/eTp2AzDu and character + animations from Mixamo)

Hey everyone! recently I participated in the ScoreSpace game jam where we had 3 days to create a game with a high score system. Game Name: Mutagun My Role: Level Design Jam theme: Mutation Our take on the mutation theme was to create a first person zombie extraction shooter. The players objective is to survive and kill as many zombies as possible while waiting for one of three extractions to safely escape. To help the player survive their gun has the ability to mutate into different super weapons allowing them to feel a power fantasy while they score points! Killing different enemy types fills up the players mutagen allowing them to mutate their gun. I had a lot of fun creating a level for this jam, my goal with each jam is to do something I haven't done before so I can learn more about game design as a whole. Three JS is awesome.😎 🚀 I have built a camera control for a First Person Shooter game using Three.js. The primary idea behind the FPS camera is to place the camera inside the character, allow the character to move and rotate with mouse and keyboard inputs, and then translate that position for the camera. ⚡For gun display, you import a 3D model of the gun and then offset its position relative to the camera. 💡The most difficult concept to understand was quaternion rotation and knowing which way is forward. 👉Also added the Rapier library to implement physical interaction like not going through objects and their realistic collisions #threejs #webdevelopment #3drendering

Hi everyone, I would like to share a project I created in the first module of the Get Coding program! "Kaboom Beach" is a puzzle game that plays very similar to both Battleship and Minesweeper, so if you are familiar with either then I think you'll pick it up quick. The motivation for doing this project comes from wanting to create something that would really challenge me to dig into the JavaScript logic and solve some tricky problems. I've also loved video games since I was young, and developing a light puzzle game that could appeal to all ages seemed like a fun way to dive into coding. I originally envisioned this project as a Battleship clone, but I thought it would be fun to introduce a twist by throwing some explosives into the playing grid. Multiple playthroughs are encouraged, as the layouts are randomized every time, so no two gameplay runs are the same. Win or lose, you will reach the end of the game in under a minute. Key Features: - Two game modes - the default setting is a relaxed experience where the user seeks hidden "treasures" in a grid (think Battleship with no opponent). Adding mines to the playing area introduces an element of peril, where the user can lose at any moment. - Three difficulty settings - Extensive use of sound effects - Please play with sound ON for the best experience, but check your volume first The game was primarily developed for mobile use, and I think it looks best in that format, but it is desktop-friendly. Any feedback is encouraged and much appreciated! If you catch any bugs or have a suggestion, do not hesitate to let me know.
