Punt, pitch, catch, surf, climb, soar—nothing brings people together like uniting to watch their favorite sports event. At BGSTR, we’ve been harnessing that competitive energy and infusing it into the graphics we design across the spectrum of athletics for almost twenty years. Whether we’re weaving highly technical graphics into a nonfiction storyline or packing a punch with 3D in explosive franchise promos, our goal is to elevate every narrative we touch. At its core, sports is about authenticity in competition, and BGSTR strives to creatively challenge the status quo for expectations around sports design while remaining true to each project’s spirit. This reel, a compilation of some recent BGSTR sports design and some classics, shows that when artistry and authenticity are aligned the sky's the limit for creativity across the ever-expanding sports landscape. #sportsreel #entertainmentmarketing #promotionaldesign

Unsilence the crowd! An absolute triumph in sport inclusivity today at St James' Park, as we witness the launch of "Unsilence the Crowd" a collaboration between Sela, RNID and Newcastle United. Inside the stadium, deaf and hearing-impaired fans wearing specially designed shirts will experience the game like never before - equipped with technology that converts the noise and atmosphere of the stadium into real-time touch sensations. These sensations are transmitted through a series of vibrations initiated by flashing blue lights embedded within the fabric of shirts. This remarkable gesture is part of a broader effort to support the approximately 12 million people in the UK who are deaf or have hearing loss or tinnitus. It's not just about enhancing the match-day experience for me it's about breaking barriers and enriching lives. This is an example of businesses collaborating together to better the lives of fans and their unique needs. This just shows how technology can bring us closer together, making the excitement of a live game accessible to all. I hope this inspires more clubs and organisations to think innovatively about accessibility and inclusion. Everyone is unique and individual so how are your innovating your services and products around them? Here’s to more groundbreaking moments in sports that celebrate every fan! #NewcastleUnited #InclusivityInSports #Innovation #PremierLeague #Marketing #InclusiveInnovation #InclusionInSport

3 Reflections on Passion at AFCON... Birds of a Feather - As the world's most widely beloved sport, it's hard to pinpoint the precise characteristics of a "football/soccer person". There is so much diversity in the multiple billions of us who would describe ourselves as fans. But as soon as we recognize the shared appreciation of the game in one another, it creates an immediate bond, regardless of language, ethnicity, nationality, etc. I saw that and felt that at this tournament, as the game united religions, languages, histories from 54 different countries. Celebration - In a life that can often seem like a grind, a slog, a bore, a tragedy, we need to have a keen eye for reasons to celebrate. Football rises above the abyss and slaps us in the face, demanding our attention. Anything can be celebrated - a goal, of course, but also a referee's decision, a transcendent display of skill. Even when the match itself is dull (a rarity at AFCON, although the first week of fixtures certainly began hesitantly), the simple occurrence of the event, the conviviality of fellow and opposing supporters, the escape from daily to-do lists, can create a self-sustaining cause for joy. Flags as a Fashion Accessory - In each stadium, flags of all types of sizes were everywhere to be seen. While I did not partake in this fashion myself, it dawned on me what a versatile accessory a flag can be. It can be worn around the shoulders as a cape, wrapped around the head as a shawl, tied to the wrist, around the waist, or simply waved from side to side to express a bit of flair. For the progressive and creative among us, there is no limit to the options. Now, it may seem odd to wear a country flag in everyday life, so I'm wondering if now is the time to expand flag genres to fit a daily fashion expression. #afcon #footballfans #soccerpodcast #footballclub

The NBA All-Star Game never fails to dazzle, and this year, they've taken it to another level with their court design. The centerpiece? A stunning 27-million-pixel floor that's truly a sight to behold! This cutting-edge technology isn't just about aesthetics; it's about enhancing the entire viewing experience for fans worldwide. With every detail captured, from the intricacies of player movements to the vibrant colors of team logos, it was like being courtside from the comfort of your own home. Kudos to the NBA for continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining what's possible in sports entertainment. This high-tech court is a testament to their commitment to elevating the game and creating unforgettable experiences for fans everywhere. Can we see this becoming a more frequent sighting in major NBA games? Will there ever be a time where this is the norm for an NBA game? #NBA #AllStar #SportsBiz

Some artists focus on their art. Some do that AND they're part-time superheroes. In the past, there had been some umms and ahhhs about whether it was gracious to publicly announce your efforts. I think in our day and age it's integral. It's absolutely vital. Why? The world is more competitive than ever. It's also more interconnected than ever. So? 1. We must be transparent. 2. Our actions must speak for themselves. 3. There can be no question about who we are. 4. The world already knows who we are. 5. We advertise who we are so we can collaborate around the WORLD in every single market. UNIVERSALLY. 6. In our day and age, we are our philosophy, our image, our feelings, our actions, our words, our thoughts, our fashion, our appearance, our reality. It's all the same thing. Unequivocally us. These are just a few reasons. But I see this? And I know. I like this guy. Who wouldn't like this guy? Who couldn't? Thought Experiment You're a youth in a youth centre. You have access to: Football pitches, a music studio, gaming room, 'and more!' What on Earth is AND MORE? If everything before that seemed pretty 'extra'. What could be more? Ask yourself. How would you feel as a youth in 2024? About your city? Your country? About your culture? Your day and age? Yourself? Your life and your blessings? How would you feel about Stormzy? And Adidas and EA Sports? This is why we must spell out exactly who does what and EXACTLY what it all means. So much. When our businesses and industries and icons and thought leaders explain and demonstrate what progress and nobility and benevolence look like in 2024? We can all take notes. I know I do. And when you read the news and social media CRITICALLY and EMPATHETICALLY and SYMPATHETICALLY and HUMBLY and AS A STUDENT? Then I believe it's safe to say you're safe and sound. You're a human being in 2024. I try too. But the news now is so touching. Genuinely. Can you imagine what those youths will feel? Who would've ever shown them such generosity? For me, Adidas and EA sports already have so much good stuff in the bank. They redefined music and gaming cultures around the world. We all know why and how. Again. And again. But kindness and the healing of all human dignity? That's not just a 'social responsibility'. No. That's KARMA. That's branding, that's advertising, that's marketing, that's business development. And it all says the same thing. WE ACTUALLY CARE AND ACT LIKE IT. Unequivocally. So when businesses can do this? By the time there's a PR issue? It already has complete context. 'Wait. Don't you remember the million things they do for the community, the countless people they employ, the culture and the arts they support, and the industries they collaborate with and how important they are to societies around the world from Europe, to China to the US and everywhere? And what happened exactly?' Actions>words. Right on. Congratulations to all involved and to every lucky youth!
Rapper Stormzy has launched a youth center in South London, equipped with football pitches, a music studio, gaming room, and more! He's partnering with adidas and Electronic Arts (EA) to make it happen! ⚽ I love Stormzy no matter what, but with youth clubs being few and far between across the UK, this new launch really has my heart. The website says, "#MERKY FC HQ IS A FOOTBALL AND COMMUNITY CENTRE IN SELHURST, DESIGNED TO NURTURE THE VOICES OF TOMORROW. PURPOSE-BUILT WITH A FULL-SIZE 3G PITCH, RECORDING STUDIO, AND GAMING ROOM, IT’S A SAFE SPACE FOR ALL TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES." With all the nonsense going on in the world, I'm glad we've got people like Stormzy championing the youth and making safe spaces for them to be themselves! 🙏

The main reason this happens to athletes is because of the differences in their concentration between practice, when it is perceived to “not count,” and games, when now the athlete tells him/herself “it really counts!” When you perform to your potential, this is most often a result of you focusing on what is important #InternalView #Visualization
