Embracing the Evolution of Money: From Cash to Digital Transactions 🚀 When was the last time you paid with cash or witnessed someone dealing in it? With the widespread acceptance of UPI, cash transactions seem like a relic of the past. 💸 Let's delve into the fascinating concept of the PINCH value of money. 💰 The pinch is the perceived value of a sum based on individual's earning capability. As available money increases ⬆ , the pinch value decreases ⬇ Now you may ask, how are the above two phenomena correlated? 🔄 💵 In the era of cash transactions, the pinch value of money was closely tied to the physical currency in hand. The limited amount of cash in one's wallet created a tangible and immediate sense of financial constraint. 🧮 People had to physically count the notes and coins, making them more aware of the value of each transaction. The scarcity of physical currency imposed a natural check on spending. 💳 With the transition to digital payments, the notion of PINCH value has evolved. Now, the available money pool includes the entire balance in one's bank account, which may not have the same tangible feel as counting cash. 📲 The ease of tapping a screen to make a payment have reduced the psychological barrier that cash transactions once provided. The increase in this digital money pool has a profound impact on our financial psychology. 💼 The PINCH of cash replaced by the tap of a screen has led to a surge in record digital transactions and an upswing in average ticket sizes, thereby influencing our spending behaviors. Curve has taken another step towards its tagline: “One card to rule them all��� They launched its first credit card: The new card comes with enhanced protections and the standard flexibility of Curve, which allows users to retroactively move purchases between different payment methods or split almost any payment from the previous year into instalments. Bringing in the new credit card allows Curve to introduce section 75 protection on both the new card and every card that a user adds to their Curve wallet, as the company tried to become “the most secure and flexible credit card on the market”. Section 75, which typically is only available for credit cards but will apply to all cards in a user’s Curve wallet, provides protection on all purchases between £100 and £30,000.
