Hey all, Non-LinkedIn topic, but something I care deeply about. My football club is being run by a clown. Overspending, with nothing to show for it has left us on a precipice. We struggle to afford HMRC bills each month, and have seen points deductions multiple seasons consecutively. Our squad is made up of some great bargains, lots of academy products, and some excellent other players we've snagged from elsewhere. Like many other clubs up and down the country, we as a group want to see football ownership properly governed. It doesn't matter if you support Oxford or Swindon (well, it does a little actually), or one of the big boys, the pattern is the same. Over spending, leading to points deductions, unpaid players and support staff, key assets like stadiums and training grounds being sold off, and more. It would be great if you'd give us a follow, especially if your club has been similarly affected. We're happy to hear from you and share support action which has resulted in positive change. Just remember, even if you support a club at the top, a few years of poor spending and mismanagement could land you in a similar position. Support those going through it to put safeguards in place now so we don't see wreckless owners screwing over the thing that brings us all joy, sorrow, highs and lows.
