Seven Generations A+E is actively working on a project to perform a series of Mitigation Activities as required by Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. Our work began in 2019 and was initiated by the construction of the new Oyate Health Center and its impact on the Sioux San Historic District. Next week, Alexander Hokkanen and J. Scott Winchester will be virtually presenting “Historic Preservation on the Oyate Health Center Campus: Rapid City Indian School and Sioux Sanatorium,” hosted via Microsoft Teams on July 19, 2024, at 3pm EST (1pm MT). This presentation will detail the work that went into preserving the history of the site, what our tasks were, the process, and the outcomes of this work. 📝 Strategy. 🚀 Growth. 🤝 Partnerships. — Achieving Recurring Impact through Commercial Success, Operational Excellence, and Customer Experience | Real Estate, Retail, Technology, Risk Management, Healthcare, Nonprofit
Reading about today's discussion on urban climate and meltdown risks, led by Bill Kistler, Managing Partner and Founder of urbanOvation, underscores the pressing need for immediate and sustained action, as summarised in today's NU.nl article about alarming statistics, records heats, critical carbon budget, and extreme heat, especially one year of heat records: 1.5 degrees of warming is dangerously close. 🌡️ May marked the twelfth consecutive month of record global temperatures. 🌡️The past year was 1.6°C warmer than pre-industrial levels. 🌡️Since July 2023, the world has consistently been over 1.5°C warmer than the 1850-1900 average. The discussions at Urban Future. event highlight the necessity of mitigation, adaptation, and engagement, a high-level summary that is in line with the remarks of António Guterres, the UN Chief, who put it as follows: "We are playing Russian roulette with the planet." The urgency is clear—our planet is sending us distress signals, but are we truly listening? These concerns have also been echoed by the Mayor of the City of Rotterdam, Ahmed Aboutaleb, at the Urban Future. Welcome Reception, yesterday. My life's journey has led me to a profound realization—a vision of a village so immense that it becomes a living, breathing ecosystem, self-dependent and self-reliant. In this village, the systems that govern us are rooted in our heritage, where medicine is not merely a science but a communion with nature, where architecture pays homage to the brilliance of our ancestors, where economics thrives through communal wealth, where governance is man-centered, where public health is a collective responsibility, where public administration serves the people, and where the legal system echoes the wisdom of our traditions.
