The next AFC CFT - Deep Sensing. I wonder whether the ongoing efforts of the Army’s existing ISR Task Force will align with, or nest under this new CFT? Appears that “deep sensing” is the overarching construct with ISR being one of several potential sub-constructs (with myriad capabilities then aligned accordingly).

So, when performing my duties as the DoD Senior Military Fellow assigned to the U.S. Department of Veteran affairs, I advocate for all service components. Our service components are hugely complex organization constantly confronting discontinuous changes. So, who better to have a sit down with and gain perspective than the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (SEAC). SEAC Troy E. Black, is the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and is the most Senior Non-commissioned Officer (NCO) position overall in the United States Armed Forces. What if we just stopped guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers? What would happen if we simply no longer stationed an Army Soldier there 24/7? I recently visited my son who's stationed at Fort Meade for technical training. As part of the visit we toured DC. When we arrived at Arlington Cemetery we both wanted to catch a changing of the guard ceremony. Afterwards I asked Hunter, What if we just didn't do that anymore? What if we just said no to putting resources up? We contemplated this idea in silence. Finally, as we walked the grounds, he said "Some traditions are worth upholding in order to demonstrate our values at work." It's a fine line as to what we keep and what we change. Sometimes in our lives we are ready to toss out traditions and rituals for the sake of change. Sometimes we don't change at all. Maybe the key is does this thing (whatever that is) demonstrate our values, norms, and behaviors at play.
