Let’s break down Stone Road’s position. →→ The Brand →→ Stone Road is one of the industry’s true brands. It knows itself very well. They’ve positioned the brand towards women and the LGBTQ community, both remain underserved by brands. The photography is edgy, provocative and it stands out like a drag queen at a sermon. Could Stone Road be the sexiest cannabis brand?? I don’t know. Call me out on that one. →→ Keepin’ it Simple →→ 3.5g, 7g, 14g flower Infused pre-rolls Full suite of concentrates Stone Road stays within a clear lane. The lesson? Keep it simple, stupid. →→ National Footprint →→ Due to their asset light model (regular readers will know I’m a fan)… Stone Road has expanded very well. The brand is currently available in CA, OK, MI, MA and NM. Most of which are grueling markets which believe in the power of brands. MA particularly has been a great state for the brand. It sold 30k units in 11 days after launching there. — I love seeing good brands and great people find ways to make this industry work. It’s a slog. It’s a grind. If you’re still in it, I believe in you! And Stone Road is one of the brands I believe in. Give them some love and reshare if you’re a fan of the brand.

Their site and marketing could be considered the legal definition of glamorous, in Canada. Tobacco hasn’t had glam since 90s here legally. Cannabis was prevented. Specifically > glamorizing use. The other thing they consider is “appealing to under 19 years old” which is somewhat …. Expansive shall we say. They’re kinda trend spotters and emulate adults. So we cannot do anything remotely close to this. By law. It’s gorgeous. It’s beautiful. It’s glamorous. So …. It’ll work. It’ll appeal to lots of people. Even teens. And there be the dragons. Of law. And “protect the kids”. We’re getting ability to finally have lids diffent color from jar !! And QR codes. Eeek. Sad to be grateful for any air. Someone smoking or looking happy ?? Sigh. If only. This particular ad reminded me of Cigar Aficianado Linda Evangelista edition. Most popular ever next to Castro editor and Jack. She broke cigars with that photoshoot. Health Canada noticed CA around that time. Fun over. For us Canucks at least. No people holding or next to a cigar. Ever. Poof.
