The Mine Closure Operations Spekboom Project at Rietspruit Colliery is an initiative aimed at improving soil health, preventing erosion, and promoting water retention by planting Spekboom on both unmined and rehabilitated land. This trial explores Spekboom’s carbon sequestration potential and adaptation to the highveld region, while fostering community engagement through conservation and eco-tourism opportunities. Together, we're advancing our ESG strategy and supporting sustainable development. #SpekboomProject #ESG #SoilHealth #CommunityEngagement #Sustainability #SeritiResources

Fascinating idea. What lead to this choice considering Spekboom is alien to the grassland biome? Is this step in a longer process towards restoration of native (grasslands) on the site?

Very good idea. I am not a plant expert, but Spekboom is a magic plant with lots of benefits
