Our team had an incredible time conducting a Career Guidance Talk with the bright and talented students from Longewan Secondary School. Every young mind deserves to dream big and explore the endless possibilities the world has to offer. For students coming from remote areas of NW Laikipia, access to information about various career paths can be limited. That's why career guidance talks like these are crucial in shaping their future. 🔍 The Importance of Career Guidance for Teenagers ⬇️ 💡 Exploration: Career talks open up a world of opportunities for teenagers, allowing them to discover diverse fields they might not have considered before. 💪 Empowerment: By learning about different career paths, these students gain confidence in their abilities and realize they can achieve greatness in any field they choose. 🌐 Broadening Horizons: For students in remote areas, these talks bridge the gap between their aspirations and the wider world of career options available to them. 🌱 Nurturing Talent: Identifying their strengths early on helps teenagers focus their efforts and channel their talents in the right direction. 🤝 Community Support: Career guidance talks foster a sense of community support, encouraging students to aim high and build a better future for themselves and their families. The Moyo Foundation is incredibly proud to have had the opportunity to inspire and support these young minds at Longewan Secondary School. Together, we can shape a future where their dreams know no bounds! 🌍 #YouthEmpowerment #CareerCounseling #TheMoyoFoundation #MoyoFoundation #CareerGuidance #EmpoweringYouth #brightfuture

In this season of heightened uncertainties, students in ZeeMee are supporting each other, sharing resources, and building deeper connections. Merely connecting with current campus peers isn't sufficient; students seek genuine community with others undergoing similar experiences. These connections significantly impact enrollment and retention. Colleges must connect with prospective students authentically, answering questions, explaining #FAFSA delays, and providing updates to ensure support. Non-transactional communication and visibility into others' concerns are key to reassuring students they're not alone. On ZeeMee, institutions host events, share content, address concerns in specific chats, and make announcements to keep students engaged and uplifted. #emchat #enrollmentmanagement #collegeadmissions #studentengagement #financialaid #community #highered #marcomm #enrollmentmarketing

Feeling very happy to share moments from our #Guts_Fellowship program carried out by Anubhuti Trust . Taking up this responsibility by saluting #Sahityaratna_AnnabhauSathe Zindabad and Johar. Namely this fellowship is of #non_criteria. There were no conditions for eligibility to be selected for this fellowship. Education, experience, reference..... there were no such indicators. This helped very grassroot youth leadership to participate. The most encouraging is that more than half of the participants are from #NTDNT, and also good number from #Dalit communities. The guts of those in the oppressed layers of society has always been seen to be dominated by exploitative mentalities by any means possible. This poisonous system has been active for centuries and centuries to prove us responsible for our so called backwardness in every space from social, economic, cultural, mental to political. Its choke hold is so strong that when we try to travel on holistic journey towards development, our patience, courage and guts is always bitterly tested. All we have is the courage given to us by great men and women like Sahityaratna Annabhau Sathe. These small programs will give us strength to claim our journeys of life, of not giving up, and of walking on the path of Constitutional, human rights. This is the first step of GUTS #fellowship. In these 2 days of residential training, many important topics have been engaged with. #identity #gender #community #resources #administration #hierarchy etc

The Educators Most Influential Educators Award 2022 | School Psychologist of the Year 2023 Nominee SPAWA
Sometimes the adults complicate things. When we ask children and young people what they need, they say they want to be listened to. The work of the Commissioner for Children and Young People has continually highlighted this. It may sound simple but for many caregivers it is not something that comes easily or naturally. We think we are listening, but often we are listening to reply. To stay in control. It doesn't mean we give our children everything they ask for. We can empathise with young people's distress for example, at not being able to connect with their peers - and still have boundaries around technology use. Schools, families and communities are crying out for support: to stay connected; to be able to talk with children and young people about respectful relationships, technology use, suicide, mental health; to feel we know what is really going on for them and how we as the adults can help. We need to support our caregivers to have confidence to stay connected, to not be afraid of emotions and dysregulation, to acknowledge, to problem solve, to guide, to discipline with care, to know when to worry. Schools are the obvious community hub from which to support parents and caregivers. Imagine a dedicated health professional at your school, working solely with parents from intake. Working alongside families to navigate early child development as well as the complex challenges of the tween and teen years. Warm, confident, connected caregivers who are able to take charge in a kind way have positive mental health outcomes for children and young people. We can't keep asking schools to add more and more social learning curriculum - as if this is somehow the answer to complex social issues. Population level caregiver support as a mental health intervention via school communities. How can we make this happen?
My team and I recently returned from an insightful visit to Port Hedland, Karratha, and Newman, where we engaged with hundreds of primary and high school students. The messages we heard were clear and powerful: these young people want to be heard and valued. They want adults to ask them how they are feeling and if they are ok. During our discussions, students shared their deep concern for the environment and their aspirations for improved community facilities. Their ideas are both inspiring and actionable. Listening Tour in the Pilbara 🔊 Key takeaways from our visit include: 👀 👉 A strong appreciation for their community and the natural beauty of the outdoors. 👉 A call for a 4-day school week to improve their educational experience. 👉 Requests for better listening and engagement from adults. 👉 The need for indoor breaks during extreme heat to ensure their safety and well-being. 👉 A desire for more local career opportunities and a wider range of educational subjects, particularly in collaboration with mining and resource companies. We are committed to amplifying these voices and working towards meaningful, impactful changes that address the needs and aspirations of young people in regional WA. 🙌 #ListeningTour #YouthVoices #Pilbara #FutureLeaders #CommunitySpirit

Thought Leader | Kectil Global Program Alumni - Helping People In Becoming Better Versions Of Self Chiefly Teens and Young Couples.
Happy Youth Day! As we celebrate today, it's important to remember that our skills, education, gifts, and talents can attract people and opportunities to us, but it's our attitude and character that will keep them and set us apart. This quote rings true: "Attitude and character are like perfume. You can't hide them for a long time. People afar may not perceive it, but those around you will definitely do." I've been privileged to meet young people who are educated, gifted, skilled, and talented, yet lost opportunities due to lack of good character and attitude. On the other hand, we've also witnessed individuals with low education levels and skills who have been empowered and employed due to their good attitude and character. Fellow youths, let's not miss out on life opportunities because of our attitude and character. We may not be able to control everything that happens to us, but we can control how we respond. Let's check our attitude and character and make sure we're putting our best foot forward. Remember, your attitude and character are also opportunities! #Lusekelo #EmbracePersonalGrowth #YouthDay #Attitude #Character #Opportunities
