The way I look at coworkers who come to a meeting and say; What we were doing didn't bring us closer to our KPIs, so we've shifted strategy when we realized X,Y,Z. Proactive problem-solving is a superpower. Happy Friday everybody!

"Beautiful place, who did your interior design?" I've gotten this question several times since posting about our new co-living co-working spot opening in Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina. The answer is.. my cousin, Esma Šantić (second picture) A few years back we talked about her career, and she was contemplating becoming a freelancer after 10 years of professional experience. I of course supported and pushed for this 😎 🚀 I know her journey hasn't been easy since going solo, but step by step, by doing great work, she created a name for herself from references. That said, I know she has so much more to offer because I haven't seen a more devoted person. Even though she was "merely" the architect behind this, so many times I would find her in the building during construction, hammering and screwing, to make sure that everything gets done right. 🔨👷🏻 Sometimes I feel like she doesn't know her own value, and like many people, she doesn't like to honk her own horn.. so I'll do it for her 😀📢 Connect with Esma here, and DM her if you need Architect services.. domestic or international ✏️

Last week I was in Zagreb and held a talk at SaaStanak, about some of the learnings I've had throughout the years building SaaS. There aren't many SaaS-focused conferences in the whole Balkans (if any), which is why I think the initial community needs to stay tight and help each other out as much as possible. My talk was called "How to know when to quit you SaaS". At face value, it sounds a bit depressing.. but I think that normalizing it also encourages many more attempts at building SaaS. The more we build collectively, the more traction we gain, the more of the ecosystem will naturally follow. Be a part of the movement..

A good friend from Serbia Mladen Levnaic once told me.. "when I go to Mostar, I think.. God created this place for himself". Happy Friday everybody.

I love the enthusiasm of this young team. As a part of their university project, they wanted to promote Mostar as a town for digital nomads. So we recorded a quick interview.. and this is the result of their work. Thank you guys!

For 11 years straight Darijn (Dilia) Zwart has been coming to Mostar (from USA) to together with other volunteers host a Summer Youth Program which helps kids improve key skills and confidence. On this day, on Facebook, for her 32nd birthday, she wished for donations to be made for the program.
