Welcome to the Seedcamp Nation, Recurse ML! Code maintenance accounts for around 30% of all software engineering time spent globally. Especially in big enterprises that have custom systems and many repositories, software engineers face the gargantuan task of understanding how these interlock or using a reinforcement learning model to understand it. This is why we are excited to partner with Recurse ML, a UK-based startup on a mission to fully abstract mundane tasks away from software engineers. Founded by Jack Jackson and Armins Stepanjans, Recurse ML streamlines the development process by seamlessly integrating into the workflow, automating tedious tasks, and allowing software engineers to maintain the codebase with a single command. We are excited to co-lead Recurse ML’s £2.5 million funding round alongside. Read on to find out why we partnered with Recurse ML: https://sdca.mp/RecurseML

As a lifelong developer and co-founder of Replit, Amjad Masad is passionate about making coding more accessible for everyone. “The reason there aren’t more software startups and entrepreneurs is because the tools are in the way. If we try to abstract and solve accidental complexity, we are going to be able to unlock an entirely new type of software creator.” Listen to how he envisions AI transforming software engineering in the future in the latest on In Depth 🎙

We pondered for a while about what to write in this blog, as from February until now, we've attended a few exciting events, but most of our time has been consumed by work. Therefore, we'll write about certain issues we've solved and what we've learned in the process. After launching Python, the majority of our development resources were dedicated to the teacher panel. Initially, we aimed to complete it by the end of April so that we could also test it with end-users. Unfortunately, school commitments got in the way, and to add fuel to the fire, every time we were close to a potential launch, we discovered new bugs that required rethinking the architecture. So, now we’ve reached early June, but at least we have a working beta version of the teacher panel 💪. Besides development, we also need to focus on the business direction, and we've made some progress in this area. It wasn't easy; we had long discussions among ourselves, shared thoughts with mentors, and then moved forward. We won’t go into details right now, but we’re starting to see the direction we need to take to move toward product-market fit. The summer will be busy, and by autumn, you’ll see what we’ve come up with. Although we've previously worked with a "go fast, break things" methodology, our development stalled for a couple of months, which dampened everyone's motivation. Everyone has their own ways to regain motivation, but for us, a "win" helps—seeing that we are genuinely solving a problem and that people like it. We also attended Latitude59 in the meantime, but more on that in the next blog 😉. - Kevin #KOIT #startupjourney #startupestonia #blog #startup #problems #problemsolving
