𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 💧🌎 Yesterday we had the pleasure to welcome a US delegation of water professionals from California and Texas.   They were here on a 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁-𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿 visiting the Danish water utilities HOFOR and Novafos as well as a number of companies including AVK.   Michael Ramlau-Hansen from AVK Holding introduced them to AVK, our history and our products. He also introduced them to the LEAKman project – an integrated leakage management solution to bring down NRW levels.   In addition, Business Development Director in AVK Smart Water, Gerner Knudsen presented our AVK Smart Water solutions. There was also a good dialogue about how the American water utilities looks at the digitalization of the water distribution network.   The delegation was also shown around in our Showroom and the exhibition on AVK SMART products at AVK International.   Thank you all for visiting us Austin Water, Bay Area Water Supply And Conservation Agency 𝗕𝗔𝗪𝗦𝗖𝗔 City of Pflugerville, Texas, EBMUD, Aqua Water Supply Corporation, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, Helix Water District, Golden State Water Company, California American Water, Kamstrup North America, Erhvervshus Midtjylland, Niels Bech Laursen, Joe Ball, The Trade Council of Denmark in North America - Energy and Environment Hans Peter Kyk And thank you to Rosa Marie Mathiasen and Lars Ravnborg for leading the team.     The tour was arranged by the The Water Technology Alliance (WTA) program under the The Trade Council in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.   The purpose of 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗪𝗧𝗔) is knowledge sharing between the North American and Danish water industry to promote the exchange of views and experiences within the water and wastewater field. It is a collaboration between American utilities and authorities and Danish utilities and companies. The collaboration originates in an agreement between the Californian state government and the Danish government, which was signed in 2016.   Both 𝗔𝗩𝗞 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔/𝗦 and American AVK Company actively participate in this collaboration, where we contribute with knowledge about our role in relation to the Danish water supply and wastewater management. These inputs are then translated into American terms, with American AVK playing the major role. This post resonates really strongly for me when I think about environmental planning and how we move forward and address the climate, nature and mental health crises. We should no longer be talking about ‘balancing’ environmental, economic and societal needs against eachother but how we work in a cross-disciplinary way to deliver benefits across these needs. I think that a natural capital approach is the way to do this, plus we need to factor the long-term better into our decision-making, e.g. short term costs to the economy are likely to be long-term savings in a changing world.

This representative creates an account on the online entry submission portal and complete the online entry form, in English, by providing responses to a series of questions in line with the judging criteria. Each entry may be complemented by supporting evidence. There is no limit when it comes to the number of initiatives that a city/local authority can submit. However, each initiative must be submitted through a separate online entry form. Additionally, any given initiative must be submitted only once.
