Amazon and UGC are a natural fit and we are going to see more, good quality, UGC on Amazon with their focus on Social Commerce. If you sell on Amazon and you aren't leaning in, you may be missing out.... Shoppers on Amazon love reviews but they can get confusing when there are a lot because you don't know who to believe. Anyone can write a review but UGC feels more authentic and informative which will give shoppers confidence. I am excited to see how far Amazon and other Marketplaces take UGC. In this clip from The MarTech Matrix Podcast, I spoke with Tom Logan, Co-Founder of Cohley, a MarTech company focused on helping brands create quality UGC for every step of the purchase funnel. Catch the Full Episode and More Clips via the Links in the Comments 🗣️ Tom Logan: "We're doing a lot of work with Amazon right now as a content partner to determine the types of videos needed for product pages to provide information, social proof, and confidence for consumers to make a purchase. Amazon is very serious about social commerce, especially with their Inspire app, which competes with TikTok in the social shopping space." Here’s how brands can make their UGC more effective: Content that Builds Trust: Work on creating videos and reviews that provide essential information and social proof. This helps in building consumer confidence, making them more likely to complete a purchase. Leverage Social Commerce: With the rise of apps like Amazon Inspire, there’s a growing trend of shopping directly within social platforms. Ensure your UGC is optimized for these channels to capture the attention of a captive audience. SEO and Conversion Impact: E-commerce giants like Walmart and Target are pushing vendors to improve their content. High-quality UGC plays a significant role in improving SEO rankings and conversion rates. Make sure your product pages are well-optimized with engaging and informative content. Competitive Edge: Recognize the competitive landscape. With platforms like TikTok becoming major players in social commerce, your UGC needs to stand out. Focus on authenticity and relatability to capture and retain consumer interest. 💡 Pro Tip: Regularly update and refresh your UGC to keep it relevant and engaging. Consumer preferences evolve, and so should your content strategy. 💡 For Brands: Partner with experts who understand the intricacies of e-commerce content requirements. Whether it's for Amazon, Walmart, or Target, having the right content can make a substantial difference in your product's performance and visibility.
