🎉 Celebrating 25 Years of the White House Project & Women's Leadership 🎉 From politics to public service, women have been shattering barriers and making waves for decades. But the question remains: Can women truly have it all? 25 years ago, Marie Wilson founded The White House Project, aiming to tackle just that. Today, we honor her vision and the countless women who've paved the way for leadership. Imagine a world where every girl believes she can be anything, even the President of the United States. Thanks to visionaries like Wilson, this dream is closer to reality. The partnership between Wilson and Mattel in 2004 brought us the groundbreaking "Barbie for President" campaign, reflecting the message of empowerment echoed in Barbie's numerous careers. Marian Wright Edelman once said, "You can’t be what you can’t see," emphasizing the importance of representation in all sectors. Thanks to publications like Ms. Magazine and the increasing presence of women in high-ranking positions, future generations are witnessing what's possible. Visionaries like Marie Wilson remind us of the strides we've made and the work left to be done. Let's harness our creativity and resilience to break through remaining barriers and pave the way for future generations. The battle for equality continues, and every step forward brings us closer to a more equitable world. In 2024, the voices, votes, and experiences of women are more crucial than ever. Together, let's ensure our participation shapes a future where all women thrive. How to Celebrate Women’s History Month at Work It’s a time to celebrate women’s contributions to World history. This year’s theme is “Visionary Women: Champions of Peace & Nonviolence.” The theme honors “women who have led efforts to end war, violence, and injustice and pioneered the use of nonviolence to change society.” If you haven’t celebrated this month in the past, I encourage you to make this ritual part of your culture. It sends a clear message to potential and current team members that women are supported and will be treated well by the organization. Openly honoring women supports your efforts to attract and retain this group that makes up about 47% of the workforce (Department of Labor). In today’s tight labor market, it’s important to share your organization’s values – such as inclusion and equality – to differentiate from the competition. Article credit https://lnkd.in/d-DZm9Nh
