According to an economic study by VisitNC, in 2022 visitors to New Hanover County spent over $323 million dollars in food and beverage establishments. Local entrepreneurs and small business owners drive this sector so it’s important we develop a food entrepreneurship strategy and ecosystem to support it. When the going gets tough, entrepreneurs get going....those that don't and can't aren't suited to be entrepreneurs: "Worries, uncertainty and burnout: 23-year-old SAJC canteen stall owner to close shop, plans food giveaway to clear remaining stock". Hate to shatter your illusions young man but this is just life as an entrepreneur. It's not like it is in the movies or TV, it's tough being an entrepreneur, especially being a sole one like this young man or myself. The fact that he's given up after only 9 months is disappointing. To have the passion and desire at 17 to build a business based on a passion regardless of the obstacles in his way is breathe taking.
