Giving up on prospects   This is something that I still struggle with today You feel as if you're one call, e-mail or video away from booking a prospect for a meeting Sometimes this simply isn’t the case, no matter how much intel you have on them or the account   Learn to get rid of these folks & focus your efforts on finding new leads instead   So my No.1 tip for any new SDRs is to be ruthless with who you spend time on   What tips would you suggest to your younger SDR selves? Whats the benchmark? Not many SDRs reach the point of peak efficiency, but I've met a few. These folks are unicorns... they can underdeliver on activity KPIs and overdeliver on conversions and quota, consistently. If you're wondering what the average SDR does, Meet Alex.... On average: 🤑 68% of SDRs/BDRs/ADRs hit quota 💼 56% stay on the role 13-24 months 😃 They have 4.4 (not sure where the .4 comes in) QCs a day 💻 And, complete 104 activities. If you're falling behind 4.4 quality convos' a day, you're falling behind the benchmark. Remember, a QC, isn't a meeting booked, or a qualified lead. A QC is a bit of info from a prospect, that either qualifies, or, disqualifies them! You know how much the average SDR generates in pipe every year? $3,000,000 🤯

Had an absolute brilliant time at the Top 50 SDR’s and SDR Leaders awards in London with Sales Confidence and last night. That's the key to staying in control. 5️⃣ Ego Check: It's not about you; it's about the prospect. Leave your ego at the door and make the conversation all about them. Yo. A new SDR team will only pay off after 12-14 months. If you’re just starting that journey, you’re likely a start up or scale up. This means you have very little brand awareness. The SDRs will help you grow this, but you need to be patient. Whereas with more established companies, you get meetings based on brand, the SDRs will get meetings based on relationships. When are you ever going to go on a date with someone after meeting them on the street for the first time? Also, when are you ever going to go on a date with someone after meeting them on the street for the first time and they’re also trying to sell you b2b tech?!? 🤣 Be patient with the team. Make sure they’re following the process. Give them 12-14 months. Aaaaaand…. Go get em.

1 year ago as an SDR I was having a 3-7% connect rate... Today I connected with 38% of the people I called. 🤯 A year ago I was ↳ making 250+ calls every single day trying to get as many connects as I can ↳ convincing people to give me time to talk to them ↳ focused solely on booking a meeting in every call ↳ treating everything as an "objection" Today I am ↳ making way less dials & talking to MORE people ↳ getting off the phone when someone is in the middle of something ↳ focusing on conversations & detaching from outcomes (not worrying about when my next convo will be has helped a ton with this) ↳not overcoming objections, understanding them ↳ no longer crying myself to sleep because nobody picks up the phone Cheers to PRL 🥂

I did it! 👏 Cold calling VS Ice bath. Today I took an ice bath. Water temperature approx 4 degrees Celsius. The beginning was challenging, I was fighting against myself and now it feels like a great accomplishment as I successfully completed the whole session. I see some similarities with the role of a SDR. - Building Resilience: SDRs face challenges and need to bounce back from rejection quickly. Similarly, enduring an ice bath requires mental determination to push through the discomfort and stay in the cold water. - Focus: SDRs need to stay focused during their calls to communicate effectively and understand their prospects' needs. Similarly, when taking an ice bath, it's essential to stay mindful and calm to endure the cold sensation. - Endorphins: Despite the initial discomfort, both activities lead to the release of endorphins.
