Part-specific gage pin blocks would allow for safe-keeping and convenient access to gages at the bench and while stored in the metrology lab. I've modeled a few common minus pins for conceptual reasons. However, this can be easily designed for any tolerance range and is overhead-friendly for smaller shops where only certain diameters are commonly used. No need to spend big $$$ for the whole set of GPs, when you only need the required pins for the part you are manufacturing(and a safe place to keep them in order).
