Here is the backside of a bust of Venus. Let’s talk about the colour of it. What do you think of it? It’s creator, Yves Klein, was obsessed with the colour blue. So obsessed that he made his own. This is his creation – International Klein Blue (IKB). A colour that became him. Bold branding. 🔵🔵🔵 It wasn’t an easy colour to make. The process included a polymer binder to keep the ultramarine pigment vibrant. It was a pain to create. And time is money. So, he’d best get his money’s worth, right? —> Enter ‘the Blue Revolution.” 🔵🔵 So, what did the colour mean? For Klein? Everything. Ok, so IKB in every collection? Almost. —> IKB was the art piece. —> IKB was the brand. One of the strongest stamps I can think of. 🔵 But, why? The memorability of one defining element (colour) would have played a big part in his success. From the man himself: “Blue is the invisible becoming visible.
