Do you think there is more confusion, not less, about social issues and global challenges? I perceive that a mix of understandably increasing anxiety, on the one hand, and corporate psychological manipulation on the other (via mass and social media), is leading to a decay in the quality of public dialogue. Because it will get worse, I integrated insights on how to perceive reality, from the scholarship on language and culture, in a chapter on what I describe as 'critical wisdom'.
