Schroders Capital has launched an innovative tokenisation pilot designed to evolve the way insurance-linked securities (ILS) investments are invested and managed. The initiative with Hannover Re, which has been tested by Schroders on an internal-only basis, has successfully enabled reinsurance contracts to be tokenised and traded on a public blockchain using smart contracts. Each token represents a share in a portfolio of reinsurance contracts, demonstrating how ILS funds may invest via a digital eco-system in the future. Tokenising these contracts allowed many time-consuming processes to be automated, creating greater efficiency and enhancing transparency of transactions, improving the client experience. Find out more: https://okt.to/EMytfj The pilot further builds on our commitment to innovation, following joining the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)'s Project Guardian, participating in the first ever GBP Digital Bond issued by the European Investment Bank and last week launching an AI-based investment analyst platform for our Private Equity team. #digitalassets #tokenisation #blockchain #dlt #innovation #ai #reinsurance #ILS
