Is the death of the plastic credit card long overdue? RuPay credit cards are leading the way. As a credit card junkie with more than 10 cards in my wallet, my experience with the Tata Neo HDFC Rupay card has been exceptional. For the past two years, I've transitioned about 30 % of my credit card and UPI micro-transactions without ever pulling out the plastic. What I love about the card is the seamless payment experience and about 1% rewards on the merchant spends. + Accelerated rewards on Tata Group brands. Around 30% of new credit cards issued in India are now on the RuPay network, up from just 5% in 2022-23. This surge followed the RBI’s decision in June 2022 to link RuPay cards with UPI, making it the only UPI-linked card network. Now, these cards are widely used on Google Pay and PhonePe upi network. Initially acceptance was an issue and then In October 2023, the NPCI announced interchange fees for UPI-linked RuPay transactions above Rs 2,000, with small merchants exempt. With over a million cards issued, the Tata Neo HDFC Rupay card stands out. Its features and convenience are unmatched. RuPay is revolutionizing the credit card experience and this card seems leading the pack. As UPI and Rupay network expands outside India, India is set to disrupt the payments tech globally. Do you like pulling out your plastic credit card or would you now prefer to go digital? PS - this is not a sponsored post 😂

I do use an ICICI Rupay card. One advantage - linked to the UPI. Makes it easy to pay. Plenty of value addition required for it to compete with the VISA/MasterCard.

Do we know how muh of UPI transactions are on credit cards please. Just stating sheeer number of cards issued is not good enough for an anlaysis. We know the number of Ruay debit cards are much mroe than other cards in the market. But the transactions on them are not that high compared to other cards. So let us get that data and come to any conclusion.. Thanks..

Need a metal rupay card. Maybe they can experiment with multiple material for making an awesome card.

Saurabh Agrawal HDFC Bank National Payments Corporation Of India (NPCI) ByThe evolution towards digital payments and the decline of traditional plastic credit cards has been significant in recent years, and your experience highlights the growing preference for seamless, digital transactions. RuPay, especially with the Tata Neo HDFC Rupay card, is leading this transformation. The integration with UPI, enhanced rewards, and increasing acceptance have made it a standout option. The surge in new RuPay card issuances and the ability to use them on platforms like Google Pay and PhonePe further emphasize this trend. The move by the RBI to link RuPay cards with UPI and the subsequent introduction of interchange fees for transactions above Rs 2,000 have played crucial roles in this shift. These steps have not only boosted RuPay's market presence but also incentivized merchants to adopt these payment methods. With over a million Tata Neo HDFC Rupay cards issued and the expansion of the UPI and RuPay network beyond India, the future of payments is indeed leaning heavily towards digital solutions. #Upi #rupay #P2M #digitalisation

QR Code + Rupay Credit is great. Not exactly sure how is this unique. And you like cards because of the incentives. If you take away the MDR the incentives will go too.

Good insight!☆ The Rupay credit card and credit line on UPI is going to change the whole credit landscape. Here's a detailed report on the same! 👇 https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/how-rupay-upi-changing-credit-game-digitap-ai-zszyc?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_android&utm_campaign=share_via

Great post Saurabh! For the past 2 years, I do not remember having visited an ATM, and all of my microtransactions are on UPI. Your post has motivated me to try out the Tata Neo Rupay card. As an aside, while Rupay Digital is paving the way for the future in India, for it to expand globally, it has to overcome limitations compared to global networks like Visa and Mastercard viz Universal Global acceptance, International traveller benefits, rewards and discounts from large partner network. Not sure if the TataNeo Rupay card already provides all of this? #tataneo #npci #upi
