NCAA conference realignment is here and 2024 will surely be an eye-opener for college athletics. While football is king, and the impact of new mega conferences has been well-reported, what doesn't make the news cycle is how these moves will affect student athletes in other sports who now must endure increased coast-to-coast travel.
Jet lag and circadian disruption, missed class and lost time on campus may take a toll on student athlete wellbeing.
How are college coaches and high performance staff preparing for what lies ahead?

Now that you have the performance standards.. you’ll want to know how you can improve the technique to improve the performance.
And when improving your technique in Sprinting which forms the basis of almost all other Athletics Events & Sports, a correct posture is crucial. 🏃♂️
This means learning to strike the right balance between push-off and the high knee position. The figure-four position shown in the video gives us a fast and easy indication as to whether this is being achieved by highlighting the timing of the heel recovery during the recovery phase of sprinting.
A smooth transition between push-off and knee lift allows us to maintain our upright posture and therefore achieve our high knee position for greater stride length and greater force application. It’s when our students push too much behind that will see the forward lean of the trunk, and subsequent forward tilt of the pelvis, that is typical with our youth athletes.
Moreover, mastering this technique contributes to reduced stress on the lower legs, and thus reduces shin and ankle injuries through more efficient ground contacts.
Athletics is great for addressing nuanced elements like this within running, jumping, and throwing, and this is why it is so useful as the foundation of our School Sports program. We can not only teach our students to run faster, but in doing so, we will have a transformative impact on your students' performance across a range of sports by giving them greater control over the fundamental movements of sports. 💯
