While the arrival of new talent can feel like a fresh autumn breeze for your team, it is important to remember this exhilarating launch can also be quite intimidating for your new teammates.  🍂🚀 Interns want to make a splash without feeling like a fish out of water. It's our job as veterans to guide them through these uncharted waters. While we teach them the basics, be sure to also remember to provide emotional support too. It will likely take more than a welcome lunch to help them feel truly part of your team. Check out these 3 playful ways to enhance your intern onboarding: 😄 First-day FUN: Make their first day unforgettable! Welcome them with their favorite song, a high-five tunnel, and some goofy questions. It'll help them feel at ease and connected right away. 🎵 Provide options for PLAY: Sign up a company sports team, start an office book club, or have lunchtime music rehearsals. Encouraging interns to playfully connect with their new colleagues , fosters friendships and teamwork. 🕶️ Gift a company kit: Give some company swag, like a hoodie, a hat and perhaps a gift certificate for the local sandwich shop on their first day. This will have them feeling like they fit in on the team from day one.
