Head of Sales, EMEA @ ReversingLabs | ACCA DipFM | Mentor | Talks about Security, Automation, Diversity, Modern Economics
SOFTWARE SUPPLY CHAIN SECURITY is such a simple topic, IDK why the industry is 'slow' to get this: - New hires get background checked (crime, qualifications etc.) - Vendors get checked for modern slavery etc. - Cars get finance checked - etc. etc. Everything gets checked. EXCEPT SOFTWARE! WTA?!? It's easy. Don't be slow do this: #SoftwareSupplyChainSecurity #AppSec #TPRM

TSA Tenure In the Fall of 2010, I was working at the Pentagon on the Joint Chiefs of Staff contact that was managed by SRA. I interviewed with a company called Computer Science Corporation (CSC) & was offered a position as an incident manager on the TSA contract. I was excited to understand what managing incidents was, since up to this point I was either a system administrator, a desktop support Engineer or an instructor. In 2010, with ten years as a technical instructor, 20 years as a desktop support Engineer and several years as a system administrator, incident management was an interesting concept. While at CSC, I worked with TSA for about a year, when my Manager asked if I would like to help out the GSA contract. It was a TS/SCI contract. Since I had a TS, the organization was willing to sponsor me. Well, the contract ended three months after I started; therefore, since I was still working TSA on the weekends, I transitioned back to full time on TSA in mid-2011. After another year, I was asked to move to the FBI contract in the summer of 2012. I departed TSA and worked for the FBI for a year. In 2013, I was promoted to paper pusher and administrative assistance, even though my title was technical trainer. So the fall of 2013, I asked about returning to TSA. I was very excited and was welcomed with open arms from the customer and from CSC. Then in 2015, I was trying to achieve a significant pay raise; therefore, Management said I had to transition to the FDIC contract. I stayed there a year until we received a new manager. This manager RIFed (Reduction in Force) my coworker IRV, and wanted us all to rotate from days to nights every two weeks. At the time, I was close to 50 years old. I told my manager that I could not work a shift like that; therefore, I moved to a teaching job at Commodities Future Trading Commission (CTFC). I stayed there for a year+, then a former coworker named John Taylor asked if I was willing to come back on the TSA contract. At the time CSC and SRA was still transitioning from their merger and GDIT was in discussion of purchasing the organization. So, I stayed with TSA until the GDIT contract ended in Feb 2019. I moved to a DHS contract with a company called RedMatter Solutions. That company was amazing; however, after 11 months of waiting for a DHS clearance, I was once again asked by CACI to join the TSA contract. I decided, what would it hurt, I was waiting for almost a year for a DHS clearance, this would take some time as well. Wow, it only took about a week for CACI to acquire my clearance. So I went back. Now that Peraton has the contract and have requested that I reduce my pay almost 50%, I decided not to take the pay cut and once again, started looking for a new GIG. I applied for a CACI position with the Air Force contract… Monday was Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Tuesday, I had an interview and Wednesday I received my offer letter. Thursday I gave my 2 week notice and will start at CACI on February 5, 2024.

Many organizations struggle to find the right balance between security and efficiency in their software development process. On one hand, robust security measures are essential, but on the other, their implementation can cause detrimental delays in time-to-market. This is where QA outsourcing can be a solution. #qa #qaoutsourcing #security #outsourcing

Fraud can happen anywhere, including local government. In this article, a husband and wife team defrauded their local governement (where the husband was employed) by creating shell companies, bidding on jobs, winning the bids, and then not doing the work. https://lnkd.in/gwsK8YB7 While this is a complicated scheme, one thing that sticks out here is the fact that no one else was reviewing and checking up on vendors before they were awarded bids. This is one of the critical processes that government and medium sized businesses need to keep in mind when hiring vendors. Need some assistance with developing your processes? Contact us today!
