Recruiting Hardware & Electronics Engineers in Belgium / +32 (0) 3 318 00 74 / tom.walker@vividresourcing.com /
Across the past three or four months, we've had an increased focus on helping our clients to recruit for their positions across production & manufacturing, such as process engineering, equipment engineering, product engineering etc. This has also revealed a number of challenges that is typically faced by those working in these roles, and more generally for management responsible for overseeing production. I've listed a few below, but I'd be interested to know of any other significant challenges you are seeing in electronics production at the moment? Rapid R&D: The electronics industry is characterized by rapid technological advancements and short product life cycles. Electronics companies must continually innovate and upgrade their manufacturing processes to keep pace with evolving technologies and market trends. Supply chain: Electronics manufacturing often involves sourcing components, materials, and equipment from multiple suppliers and partners around the world. Coordinating and managing a complex supply chain can be challenging, especially when dealing with global logistics, lead time variability, and supplier reliability issues. Quality assurance: Maintaining product quality and consistency is crucial in the electronics industry. Electronics companies must implement robust quality control processes and invest in testing and inspection technologies to ensure that products meet performance, reliability, and safety standards. Recruiting and retention: Recruiting and retaining skilled talent is a significant challenge for electronics manufacturers, particularly in specialized areas such as semiconductor fabrication, printed circuit board assembly, and electronics packaging. Regulations: Electronics manufacturers must comply with a wide range of regulatory requirements and industry standards, including safety regulations, environmental regulations, and product certification standards. Environmental considerations: The electronics industry is under increasing pressure to address environmental and sustainability concerns throughout the product life cycle, from raw material extraction and manufacturing to use and disposal, meaning that electronics companies must adapt to using increasingly environmentally friendly practices.

From Blueprints to Business: My Journey in Engineering and Sales As a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate now working in medical sales, I've gained some unexpected insights: 1. Engineering principles apply everywhere - even in client conversations 2. The ability to explain complex concepts simply is invaluable 3. Understanding both technical and business needs creates unique opportunities My experience designing a plastic injection mold taught me the importance of precision. Now, I apply that same attention to detail in understanding client needs. Interning across various industries - from steel to shipyards - showed me the diversity of engineering applications. It's exciting to now see how these technical solutions translate to real-world impact in the medical field. I'm curious: How have others found their engineering background useful in non-traditional roles? #EngineeringInBusiness #CareerGrowth #FromTechToSales
