It is with great gratitude that I accept the honor of being named a member of the Lubar 25 Class of 2024 at the recognition program this past Tuesday. This annual program celebrates the achievements of 25 undergraduate students in the Lubar College of Business who have demonstrated excellence in academics, entrepreneurship, leadership, or service to the campus and community. Thank you to the Lubar faculty, panel of judges, and generous donors who support and make this program possible each year. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity to be acknowledged in such an amazing program. I would like to extend my congratulations to my fellow Lubar 25 honorees. Do your classrooms follow this process? Engage preconceptions/misconceptions, active learning/metacognition. And in terms of progression: 1- knowledge retrieval 2- comprehension 3- analysis 4- knowledge utilization/application. Metacognition must occur throughout.

I joined Gallup CEO Jon Clifton to talk about how leveraging my strengths has made an impact on my life and the impact it’s making for our students. Every Volunteer takes a strengths assessment when they get to campus, allowing us to develop strategies for success and a shared language to understand one another. Every student on our campus—and many of our faculty and staff—can tell you their Top 5 strengths. (Mine are Strategic, Achiever, Positivity, Futuristic and Maximizer.)
