The new Cannabis Decriminalization Act (Pillar 1) came into force in Germany today, on April 1st, 2024. This legislation removes cannabis from Germany's Narcotics List, allowing adults to possess up to 25 grams for personal use and grow up to 3 plants at home. Cannabis reclassification will also have a particular impact on the medical prescription of cannabis-containing medicines. Now, medicinal cannabis can be prescribed on a regular prescription - an essential change for patients that enables easier access to cannabis therapy. "As Germany moves further towards sensible cannabis policies that open access to patients, worldwide global medical cannabis reform is ramping up. German patients and consumers will now truly feel the experience of freedom to find relief for whatever indications cannabis can help them with. With freedom of choice must come the advancement of higher quality and better-performing cannabis extracts", shares Michael Sassano, "SOMAÍ will raise the bar of extracts with the most sought-after extracted products that free countries deserve.
