Liquid Restaking Tokens LRTs are akin to stETH for restaking, enabling users to gain yield from restaking via a simple ERC20 token. Complexities of restaking are simplified for end-users through a familiar interface. Stakers on platforms like EigenLayer receive additional yield. LRTs offer a liquid form of restaked assets, allowing yield on top of Ethereum staking rewards. Restaking adds another layer of risk on volatile assets, staking and liquid staking counterparty risks. Anticipated EigenLayer airdrop in 2024, potentially the largest ever, valued in billions USD. Expected to create a "wealth effect" and drive new narratives around liquid restaking projects.
