"What is the first word that comes to mind that best describe the TX team or culture? Flexible: The company culture is incredibly flexible. There are no hard requirements regarding time to report to the office, or remote/hybrid/in-person, as long as the work is done and goals are achieved. This allows many of the employees to work at a time that is best for their lifestyle. In addition, the start-up phase of the company means the directives by project can vary quite a lot from week to week, sometimes the vision for a project can pivot; the team is really good at adjusting the workflow and being flexible to match the direction of the vision." Check out the full blog review here: https://lnkd.in/gBDHMuhh Thanks to Sophia Cheung for her contribution and work during her internship at TX last summer. Also thanks to the support from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and in particular the MIT-Japan Program (Christine Pilcavage)

Balancing Work and Play: Reflecting on a Dynamic Summer! As summer winds down and the days become a bit shorter, marking the completion of my first year in the USA, I wanted to offer a glimpse into the dynamic path I've been on. From June to August, my days were filled with a unique mix of work and play, and I couldn't be more grateful for the experiences that unfolded. During this time, I had the opportunity for a virtual summer internship with KYOCERA AVX, a leading player in the world of advanced electronic components. Coming from a software background, diving into the hardware and electronics industry felt like stepping into a new adventure. It blended excitement, challenge, and a dash of uncertainty! Navigating this new territory wasn't always a walk in the park, but guess what? It's all about embracing the unexpected. My transferable skills and past journeys paved the way for some amazing discoveries. From understanding our customers deeply to exploring the strategies of our competitors, it was like piecing together a puzzle and uncovering insights that helped me connect the dots. But that's not all – weaving these insights into a seamless user experience and cohesive branding and marketing strategies was like crafting a puzzle where every piece fell into place. You know what my biggest takeaway was? Think Customer First! This mindset shift isn't just about the numbers; it's about fostering a culture that puts customers at the heart of everything we do. But wait, here's the exciting part – that last semester at Duke awaits! As I gear up for this final stretch, I feel a mix of determination and anticipation. The road ahead might be challenging, but I know it's leading me toward bigger and better things. #SummerInternship #LearningAndGrowing #EmbraceTheJourney

I know that many in my network have had the distinct pleasure of hosting a Project Onramp summer intern at their organization, for those that have not, this program aims to help undergraduates from low-income backgrounds gain experience and access to our industry. This program is a true win/win for companies/teams/hiring managers and interns. The QR code below will help you learn more but two key points to keep in mind: - Interns are not just for lab based/science positions, but are incredibly well-suited for placement in most departments in your org - If your company has 100 employees or fewer, up to two intern salaries will be reimbursed!

I had the pleasure of spending time and making a presentation to our class of 2024 summer interns at LG Electronics North America. The purpose was to share my career journey and share my roles, responsibilities, and experiences. I wanted to leave them with valuable advice that was passed on to me early in my career, as they begin their journey in the business world after graduation. 1) Your career isn’t going to be defined by one job. Don’t stress, you will find your rhythm 2) Ask questions…knowledge is power for making informed decisions and shows people that you want to learn 3) Don’t be a keyboard warrior – get off your chair and have a conversation 4) Be comfortable….being uncomfortable. Adversity will make you more confident 5) Have a plan when tackling a project and share it with stakeholders before you implement. Clearly state your objectives, desired result, set KPIs and success metrics. Get their buy-in! 6) Mistakes happen – embrace it, own it, and learn from it 7) You're not going to like everyone you work with, and they may not like you. However, you need to learn how to work with each other 8) Participate in a 401k financial program from your employer on your start date - max the contribution #LGElectronics, #LIFESGOOD
