Give a thought to those who have abusive, violent fathers who see other people’s posts praising theirs on Fathers Day. These lucky, lucky people. I’ve grieved for a father my whole life, but mine is still alive. I’ve not had cause to call the Samaritans but I’m so very glad they are there for those that do need them. What an amazing job they do. A tough job. Thank you.

So nice to see a post for all those who may be struggling with the day / with Fathers / with loss and everyone who has a less than perfect time on this day - thank you for your work and support to all those that are struggling…..

Suicide is still the biggest taboo in our society today. I pray for all those who are so desperate that life seems too intolerable to face anymore. This is much more common than we think and we all need to be alert to those around us who are suffering. Equally, I pray in gratitude for all those who give their time, week in, week out, very quietly and humbly. Thank you to all those Samaritan volunteers.
