A Samaritan’s Purse partner named Nataliya is leading a team of Ukrainians to help their fellow citizens in the region. Over the past year, they have provided over 350 families with emergency shelter materials such as tarp, plexiglass, and oriented strand board (like particle board) to help them patch together what is left of their homes. “Plexiglass is like a miracle,” said Nataliya. “It brings light into homes.” Where opaque materials have covered windows for months, sometimes hope takes the form of a clear piece of plastic. Before a Russian incursion, the house that Valeria* grew up in was filled with love and laughter as the home for her and her husband, their children, and grandchildren. But all that changed when artillery broke their 22 windows and left their walls damaged. Only because the roof did not collapse was the family able to stay in their home that overflowed with so many memories. Please continue to pray that God works through our volunteers. Pray also for their safety and peace as they continue to help people in a very unstable environment. To read the full story click the link below. https://sampur.se/3zpvmdK

In the midst of conflict, it's imperative to pause and reflect on the innocent lives caught in the crossfire. Children, the most vulnerable among us, bear the brunt of war's devastation. As bombs fall and bullets fly, they suffer unimaginable horrors, often without a safe haven to seek refuge. It's a stark reality that demands action and compassion from the global community. Think about the #Gaza #children, their laughter silenced by the deafening roar of artillery. They endure wounds both physical and emotional, with no relief in sight. Yet, amidst this chaos, where is the sanctuary they so desperately need? Where are the open doors of nations, welcoming them with open arms and offering solace from the storm? And what of the organizations professing to uphold the principles of humanity? Are they standing idly by, or are they taking meaningful steps to protect these innocent souls? It's time for action, not just words on banners. It's time to extend a lifeline to those who cannot fend for themselves. The #global #community must unite in solidarity to ensure that every child, regardless of circumstance, finds safety and shelter. Let us not turn a blind eye to their suffering, but rather, let us be the beacon of hope in their darkest hour. For in the end, our humanity is measured not by our words, but by our deeds. #humanity #freepalestine #peace #Rafah #terroristisrael #ICC #ICJ

A moving and powerful article.
I lived under siege for months as a child. It changed my world and my childhood completely. I wanted to share that experience, what it felt like for a child to experience bombs night after night because it feels necessary right now. This is my long read in the Guardian today: "As a child it was so clear to me what needed to be done. I would get angry after each experience of hiding from the shells. I didn’t understand it then, but there was such intelligence in my anger. It didn’t manifest as a desire for revenge or the need to make me or my family into victims who couldn’t recover our life or our humanity. It came out as a resolute demand that played over and over in my 10-year-old head, and has echoed ever since: stop killing children." https://lnkd.in/eYxfq2Zp

Today we remember and honor the lives tragically lost on September 11th, 2001. It has been 22 years since the horrifying terrorist attacks that shook our nation to its core. We bear witness to the immense pain and suffering that was endured, and we pay tribute to the bravery and resilience displayed by countless heroes. On this day, we mourn the innocent lives taken too soon; the mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters who never returned home. We remember the firefighters, police officers, and first responders who selflessly rushed into danger, sacrificing their own lives to save others. Their courage and dedication will forever be etched in our hearts. Amidst the darkness and despair, the unity and strength of the American people emerged. We stood together, bound by our shared grief, and showed the world that we would not be broken. We displayed acts of kindness, compassion, and solidarity, proving that love will always prevail over hate. Today, as we reflect on the 22nd anniversary of 9/11, let us not only remember the tragedy, but also the lessons it taught us. Let us continue to stand united against hatred and violence. Let us foster a world where tolerance, understanding, and peace flourish. May the memory of those we lost on that fateful day forever inspire us to build a brighter future. Today, we honor their legacy and vow to never forget.#911Memorial #NeverForget #911 #september112021

𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲 Today marks a solemn day in our nation's history, a day when our world was forever changed. On September 11, 2001, we witnessed both the darkest of human actions and the most inspiring acts of heroism. As we remember the nearly 3,000 lives tragically lost in the terrorist attacks, we also pledge never to forget the lingering costs of that act. We grieve for the thousands of individuals and families who must go on without their loved ones and are still suffering today because of these horrific terrorist acts. We also recognize the two-decades-long war wrought in the aftermath of the bloodbath that occurred in New York City, Shanksville, PA, and at the Pentagon. Limbs, marriages, physical health, and lives lost to both combat and suicide are all paid daily because of what happened in 2001. SFA pledges never to forget that while our country’s resilience and enduring unity shone brightly in the aftermath of 9/11, there are those who are at risk of being forgotten by the history books. For those directly affected by these purveyors of evil, September 11th d̲o̲e̲s̲n̲'̲t̲ just live in a history book. The effects of that morning’s terrible attack linger with them each, and every, day. Today, we honor all of those who perished, and those still carrying the burden of having lived through it. We also reaffirm our commitment to the values of freedom and justice that make our nation great. May the memory of 9/11 inspire us to always stand strong against those who would do harm to freedom-loving nations and to those of a different religious faith. #NeverForget #September11 #UnitedWeStand #Honor911 #Patriotday 🗽🌟

War takes away our most precious possessions. Those are our land, our loved ones, and our stability. These losses are impossible to accept, hard to recover from, and extremely difficult to live with. 💔❤️🩹 Nevertheless, we have to keep living, so it is important to take care of our psychological well-being. Women’s Voice (Holos Zhinky) is a socio-psychological project created to help women deal with the consequences of war and tell about war through women’s eyes. Women’s Voice was launched for the women who: ☑ suffered as a result of russian aggression; ☑ require psychological assistance; ☑ want to share their story of war. You may find more details about the project here https://lnkd.in/dZHv8ums If you need support and/or want to be heard, please register through this link (it is free and anonymous): https://lnkd.in/exWCq4At

Custom Collaborative Book Coaching for Ministry Minded Leaders with White Glove Publishing Solutions
Recognizing Spiritual Warfare with New Eyes - Part One I posted part one of Chapter 5 of my memoir earlier today, and as I reviewed the audio I was reminded how important this information is. So I'm sharing an excerpt from my book, "Full Circle," where I was quoting an earlier book we published many years ago entitled "Behind Enemy Lines." During my years of working with Point Man Ministries, I spoke at many veterans’ events mostly to the wives of Vietnam vets, but often times to the vets themselves. For one of my workshop sessions, I needed to understand some of the strategies the Communist forces used against us in Vietnam. I learned that the Viet Cong primarily implemented guerilla warfare because they were outgunned and technologically disadvantaged. “Hit-and-run tactics and small-unit actions were designed to wear us down and catch us off guard. They avoided direct contact—conventional combat—as much as possible.” The parallels were obvious to me. The enemy of our souls has been outgunned by Jesus, leaving him at a disadvantage. So, he uses other tactics to make us ineffective. As we made a list of the methods the VC and North Vietnamese soldiers used, we saw an uncanny similarity to strategies Satan uses against believers. The VC tried to look as much like the civilian population as possible. Satan disguises himself and can even appear like a friend— an angel of light. The VC did not fight only for physical territory; they fought to win the hearts and minds of people. If Satan can focus our attention, our zeal, our time, our hearts, and our minds on something other than Jesus and the Great Commission, he has won, because we will be unfruitful and ineffective in the kingdom of God. The VC deployed booby traps along the trails. This destroyed the confidence of our troops, who experienced casualties but rarely spotted the enemy, who watched the destruction from afar. Satan knows he cannot win the war. But if he can set enough traps along our walk to injure us and make us unsure of our faith, he can discourage us. The VC used innocent civilians as decoys to undermine security and confidence. “They strapped explosive charges on small children and sent them into groups of GIs to make friends. When the kids got close enough they detonated the explosives remotely.” Satan will use even seemingly good things to win our affection. Once he has accomplished this, he ambushes us and attempts to destroy us. Does any of this sound familiar to you? Can you remember ways the warfare looked like this in your own life and ministry? I'd love to hear about it! More to come tomorrow in Part Two! #spiritualwarfare #spiritualwisdom #christianwriter #christianauthor #jesusislord
