"How can I create goals if I don't have access to data?"
Setting goals without data? Sounds like a classic puzzle we hear about all the time during our first office hour for the PCMA Event Measurement and Analytics course. Our kickoff session this cohort turned into what I'd lovingly call a group therapy session for event organizers dealing with data woes.
It's a common scene: folks feeling a bit lost because they're missing that crucial piece of the puzzle - data. If this is hitting close to home, just know you're definitely not alone in this boat!
But here's the kicker: even if data is playing hard to get, setting those goals is still super important. Why? Because it gives your event purpose and direction, aligning it with your organization's bigger picture. 🌟
So, how do you make your goals measurable, even with limited data? Start simple. If your objective is brand awareness, count social media mentions. Networking event? Track the number of connections made. Every goal should answer the big question: "What's the point?" And trust me, there always is one.
Remember, a goal without a plan is just a wish. And in the event world, we don't rely on wishes; we craft strategies. Let's make our events impactful, one measurable goal at a time. 🚀
